NAMIBIA: First African Hunt — “Once In A Lifetime Waterbuck?”

Mine is very good, but yours is exceptional, congrats !

No doubt about, great bull!

Exceptional Waterbuck, Congratulations!

Glad you had a fantastic trip. One thing I would recommend is to keep hunting waterbuck if your budget allows. I have been told that about some animals I have gotten as well. And while I may never get a bigger one, I go into the hunt knowing I might not top the animal I already have. But I look at it like whitetail hunting. I go every single year for that, and most years I am not going to see one bigger than the biggest I have ever got. I'm still going to go, and I'm still going to try and harvest a nice buck that gets me excited, even if it isn't my biggest buck ever.

My PH told me the same about my Red Hartebeest. A Red Hartebeest was not on my list. When we saw it, my PH told me that if I didn't shoot it, he was going to shoot it and have it done up for the lodge. I decided to take it. It measured out as an SCI Gold and a Rowland Ward- so I don't think they exaggerate about such things.

Congratulation on a very successful 1st safari, have fun planning your second.

You PH is correct you shot a tank of a waterbuck!!!

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
