My 375 Winchester has arrived

Congrats on a very nice rifle !
I topped my .375 with a Leupold 2.5-8 VX3i with a post and duplex reticle and it has worked very well so far, I have used it in near darkness on hogs with excellent results.

Both retail pretty close to one another ($1300-$1500 range).. but I can get a pretty nice discount on the Zeiss if I buy using my veterans account at experticity.com (about $1150).. I havent found anyone selling the Leupold anywhere near that price point yet..

Decisions.. Decisions.....

If you wouldn't mind to move up in magnification a touch, the VX6 with a firedot duplex can be had at considerable savings right now from Natachez.

I have two scopes each set up differently on QR mounts for my 375 H&H. The 1-6x sighted in for 100 yds using 300gr bullets for DG and the other a 2-12x sighted in for 250gr bullets for plains game hunting using a 6” point blank range. I carry both scopes utilizing one as a backup...just in case an oops happens.

I have the VX6 on my 416! I have been very pleased with it!

I currently have a Leupold VX-R 3-9X40 on my Win Mod 70 .375 H&H with Talley QD's and it is fine. But the Swarovski R8 1-8X24 on my 9.3 is way way better.

An excellent combination . Enjoy and think of us.

Congratulations. A good looking rifle.

On my 416 Rigby I have an Aimpoint scope as well as a Trijacon 1.25-4X24 picket Post reticle. Use the Aimpoint for most work. The Trijacon for anything over 200mts or rabbits over 50mts.

When I read the title of your post I was fully expecting to see a gun that shot one of these:

Not a gun that shot one of these:

But still... congratulations on the rifle! I love mine and they are very soft shooting! Have fun with i!

I bought a new Winchester Model 70 Safari Express chambered in .375 H&H about a month ago. I topped it with a Leupold VX 3i 3.5-10x40 mounted in Warne QD rings. I am very please so far. I have shot it a couple of times and am working up loads based on Barnes bullets. Avoid Remington factory ammo. It is junk.

I visited the Huntex expo this pass weekend in Midrand, Johannesburg and I bought a vortex viper 1-6x24 for my .375 H&H.

Nice glass! Let us know how it holds up to the .375 once you get a couple of boxes of ammo through it.

I ended up topping mine with the new Zeiss V4 1-4x with the illuminated reticle.. (I mentioned earlier in the thread I was looking at a leupold option and the zeiss V6..)...

We got a stellar deal on the V4 after they were initially released at the SHOT Show.. I couldnt pass it up...

But.. I've always really liked Vortex.. they make great glass for the money (IMO), and their customer service is top notch..

I have a Leupold VX5 in 2×10 on my 375HH. It's not the one with the dials. Just dirt simple. Nice glass and the adjustments are accurate and repeatable. I like Leupold and Nikons genetally

Congrats on the new rifle. I topped my Kimber Caprivi in 375 H&H with a leupold vx3i 2.5 x 8 with leupold rings. It served me well on my plains game hunt last summer, and plan on it servo g me well when I go back after buffalo.

I just got the same rifle from Sierraone on here. Beautiful rifle!
I’m in the same boat so I will be interested in what you decide on.

IF YOU DON'T COME UP WITH ANY .458, I WILL TRY AND GET MY KID TO PACK SOME UP FOR YOU BUT PROBABLY WOUDN'T BE TILL THIS WEEKEND AND GO OUT NEXT WEEK.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
