For those of you that have hunted with a trad bow out of a pit blind, did the reduced visibility of the target affect your shooting? I made this "shooting window" out of some shipping pallet and rubberized fabric. It seems to mess with my shooting a little. I hang it from the roof of my carport and shoot through it to my targets 20 ish yards away. I'm glad I am starting this early. August 2017 is game time!

One thing that always gets me is the height of the blinds.
Somehow 201cm does not get accounted for in window heights.

Shoot from your knees as well. Just in case.

It didn't seem to affect me, but I don't shoot very far.

I think this is a very smart way to prepare! Practice makes the hunt go the way it should.

Like Jeff I never had an issue ....just don't get to close to the wall when you shoot . And like Brick says practice shooting from your knee and in a seated position.
Good Luck and Play Safe

Bow hunters of all shapes, sizes, and heights are accounted for in our hide construction. (y)

Razorsharptokill, no need to practice from your knees unless you are more comfortable doing so. All of the shooting windows have burlap curtains that fully adjust to any hunters' height. Some shoot standing while others prefer to remain seated. It's completely up to you!

Awesome! Thanks for the input. Man! That animal didn't go far from the blind!

That animal didn't go far from the blind!

That's what we strive for.... Reasonable, ethical shot opportunities that lead to quick recoveries. Everyone is happy! The one thing that can bring everybody down on a hunt is a wounded or lost animal. We try to avoid that scenario every way possible. We feel that we have some of the best trackers in Africa, but we prefer not to challenge them unless it's absolutely necessary.

That is my goal, no tracking required...

Obviously that's our goal for each animal, but at the same time, it's an incredible, truly African experience getting to watch these trackers work. It never ceases to amaze me how gifted and skilled some of these men are... Many of them have this skill passed from generation to generation and it seems as much genetic as it is learned.

Hopefully your tracking jobs will be "short" and you will get to see a uniquely Africa skill put to work for demonstration purposes if nothing else!

Going to limcroma September 9th and absolutely can't wait.. I love to track animals I get called to track for friends so I can't wait to see someone who is essentially bread to track.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
