Good evening AH members! I have my first African animal, my first true trophy sized Sable that I am curious about measuring. It is currently at the taxidermist in SA. If I have it mounted, can I still have it measured by an SCI specialist?

Thank you! I didn’t realize horns shrank that much. I’ll get them measured as soon as they get here!As already noted the answer is YES. If you are really interested, do it as soon as practical because horns vs antlers- horns can REALLY SHRINK over time vs antlers, that although do shrink, not at the rate of horns. I have a kudu from 2007 that has shrunk almost two inches in length since then.
When you get it back give me a yell. I’m a SCI Measurer and will be happy to score for you.View attachment 492197
