Speer 270 grains for my leopard hunt@Rare Breed What bullet are you using?
These bullets are the old version of Peregrine bullets...I still am looking for a suitable bullet for hunting. I think the answer is a BARNES bullet ..I will make a choice before next year hunting season..Rhino bullets here in SA is another possibility.@Rare Breed What bullet are you using?
AZDAVE, I agree, it already is a joy to re-load for..Gert I think you will find just how well the x62 is just a great all around rifle. Very easy to load for.
SStomcat, PMP brass cases I used is used for the first time in the 9.3x62 chamber, although it was full length sized it still fired-form to the dimensions of the rifle`s chamber... I am now trying to re-load more accurate using a bullet comparator and headspace gauge trying to setup the full length sizing die as accurate as possible ..Can you please elaborate - fire form into my Mauser chamber? Are you referring to fire form the brass?

Daryl, thank you for this information. I will give feedback in this regards. I am using the PMP brass cases , will measure water capacity as well of the fired cases before de-priming again.Once you fireform your brass, would you please measure the shoulder diameter. If you google the 9.3x62 dimensions, you will receive a chart showing the shoulder is .451". This is incorrect according to brass I have from a Styer Rifle and Sako brass as well as from my 2 factory chambered 9.3x62, one Mauser, the other is a Zastava. All three of these guns, show .454" shoulders on fireformed brass. .454" is the standard for the old "standard" IMP ctg. invented or originated by Parker O. Ackley on that case as well as the the other .468-.470" standard parent cases. Measured case water capacity of those fired 9.3x62 Sako cases is exactly the same as my 9.3x62 brass, at 78gr. capacity.
dchamp, we do have access to imported propellant. I use SONCHEM currently , I do have SONCHEM propellant available. Will look at various propellants in the near future.Hi Gert, nice looking rifles.
What powders are availbale to you, or are you stuck with only Somchem. CFE223 and Ramshot Big Game work very well with the 250 grain range of bullets. Sixty to sixty two grains should get you 2,500fps or 763m/s plus. 55-56 grains of IMR3031 should get you around 2450fps or 747m/s. For lighter bullets H4895 works well and for heavier bullets 286-325 grain I like RL17.
Currently I am using 258 grain Hammer bullets with 60.5gr of CFE223, R 9-1/2 @ 3.305” o.a.l. and am getting around 2490fps for best accuracy. 63.0grains of CFE223 gets me to 2580fps.

Is there any particular bullet that you are interested in?
What are your overall length restrictions, magazine?
Have you finished your 8x68s?
250 grains Barnes TTSX at 2500 fps is devastating on Kudu, Eland bull, Warthog, and pretty much any PG.dchamp, we do have access to imported propellant. I use SONCHEM currently , I do have SONCHEM propellant available. Will look at various propellants in the near future.
I do not have a preference in regards to bullets. I will be looking at Rhino, AXE and Stewart`s bullets for range shooting .
When hunting next season I surely will use BARNES bullets...it maybe expensive due to our weak Rand currency but definitely cheaper than wounding a blue wildebees or kudu using inferior bullets to hunt with.
