Thats school example of leopard.

I'll bet that all of us viewing the photos are thinking "How in the PHUK did THAT happen??!!

My guess is no one witnessed the event, so unfortunately, we'll never know.

But one can always play the parlor game of trying to solve the mystery.

Here's my theory . . . (and you know any unproven theory and 5 bucks will getcha' a free beer in most any working man's pub ;))

These photos and a short video of the scene that is circulating show that trees are few to none in the area. I propose the leopard was trying to stash it's kill up on the power pole and somehow while trying to wedge the kill securely, bit onto the wire while another part of it's body completed the circuit.
It would be interesting to know if another animal was found lying at the bottom of the pole. However, the absence of a carcass at the bottom of the pole might be because other carnivores have drug it off . . that is after all why leopards usually stash their kills in trees.

She looks really full or really pregnant.

I dunno.....I think it's too focused and short-sighted (joke). It had to go up the pole after something, because there aren't any trees from which it could miscalculate a jump. No matter what, what a waste.

Pelt still salvageable?
Maybe, lots of variables. Depends on how long it had been dead, how hot or cold it’s been and if already shedding from summer to winter coat. Cats are notorious for hair slipping. At least here in the states from back when I trapped bobcats, you had to skin them pretty quickly or they would slip.

Can’t quite see how it got stuck? Also don’t see any arch marks. The photo on the back of the truck is to grainy. Animals get into strange places though.

Reminds me of the story of the Alaskan moose that got tangled up in power lines when they were installing them. The crew noticed something wasn’t right and went back to check. They apparently found a very alive and very upset moose hanging 50’ off the ground by its antlers. He lived long enough to get back to the ground, but couldn’t be untangled. They eventually shot him and salvaged the meat.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
