I think USOG is one of the best GunTubers out there, and this is a perfect example of why. Very neat to see this curio from a great movie.

Great movie too! I remember seeing the movie poster in the mall for a year or more before it ever came out and couldn't wait.

Lee Enfield was the first deer rifle I ever owned. I fired it a few times, and suddenly someone offered me a few more bucks than I gave for it and it was gone. Did not appreciate it at the time.

My favourite mil. bolt rifle this, mine is a Mk.III* made 1918. Parachuted into Norway from Britain to the norwegian resistance in 1944..

The backbone of the british army from 1907 - 1951.

Still shoot it sometimes..

Great movie!!

That film had some magnificent vintage firearms. During the Africa sequence, Tristan carries a large bore under lever hammer double rifle (probably intended to be an 8 gauge). The Colonel is also gifted a magnificent presentation grade Auguste Francotte boxlock ejector side by side shotgun.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
