I finally fulfilled a dream that my dad imparted to me 43 years ago, when I was 5 years old: I went on my first African Safari!

I hunted with Limcroma Safaris and had the time of my life! The hunting, staff, food and lodging were simply top notch! I am already planning my return.

Please check out my YouTube videos of my hunts! My channel is 64bowhuntr.

Here is the link to one of the 7 videos I have there:

Great Video and great shot Congrats. Would love to see and read a full hunting report.

I checked out the videos. Looks like you had a great time and took some awesome trophies!

Congrats on a successful hunt, nice video. Like Bob said, give us the story and some still photos.:thumb:

nice safaris happen when you do your home work...

a story by line and some photos would be great...

Great to have another bowhunter on board! Cool video.

Thanks for the video links! Limcroma Safaris runs a pretty good operation!

Congrats. Some fine shooting there.

Very nice Your videos are sweet. What camera did you use?

Believe it or not, it was just a new Sony Cybershot. The new models now have an 18:1 optical zoom that works in video mode. It takes great pics and great videos alike...at a very reasonable price!

Sweet! It's amazing how well a budget priced camera works. My son, who is big into photography is researching a new camera for me. So far he has a Canon as well as a couple others tagged for me. Thanks.

Bowhuntr64/Stretch, i just picked up a SONY Cybershot (only 5:1) to slide in my pocket during deployment to DRC and i find it takes great pics, you can bet after seeing your handiwork Bowhuntr64 i will be shortly trying the video mode out, thanks for posting the videos and congrats on the hunt.

And I used a Mac in IMovie for the effects. I am really new to that, but it worked great.

Thanks. I did that after your suggestion. I am still trying to figure out my way around here, but it is posted somewhere, along with my still pics :)

Congratulations.
Thanks for posting your videos.

So I bought ordered a camera this weekend. With my son's reseach I decided to go with the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX30V (newer 2012 version). It only weights 9 ounces so no extra weight in the backpack. You can peruse this camera at this link: Amazon.com: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX30V 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Digital Camera with 20x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (2012 Model): Camera & Photo

That is exactly what I used. It had just come out the week I bought it, in July. I love it for both stills and for the video capability and optical zoom in video mode.

Nice! My son picked the right one then. Love your video's. How do you do the slow-motion feature?

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
