Welp, we are a hyper suspicious bunch, myself included. Seems we have to be at times or someone will take advantage and scam.
That said, Gary Weber proved to be a great individual to chat with and found several aspects of commonality, between him living close to some of my family and him working from time to time in my area.
He ordered the rifle new from
Heym USA when he was all fired up and heading to Africa to take a leopard, planned a buffalo hunt soon after that caved due to Covid and just never got around to heading back. Once the rifle arrived he never even fired it once, had all the paper work, target and case for it. Proved reasonably flexible on price. AND…didn’t list the extras he had for it.
He had a custom ammo box built by americase, which holds the 6-new included boxes of Hornady ammo, a NIB Doctor optical with Heym mount, a Trader Keith Sling and Murray Leather Culling Belt…which he tossed in for the lower negotiated price. To top it off, he gave me a leather take down Heym case he had forgotten about until his wife reminded him after the fact. I’ve never even seen one of these, but it’s pretty cool, like a leg o mutton case just branded Heym.
Think we are smart to be suspicious at times, but need to remain somewhat open minded when risks can mitigated. Glad I did here.
