I received an email from my old friend Johnny Vivier of @Wintershoek Safaris that he will be awarded the Outstanding International Professional Hunter of the Year at the 2019 Safari Club International Convention.

The copy below from his email. I have known Johnny for over 30 years and besides being an overall great guy, he has been the consumate professional throughout his career.

“On behalf of the SCI’s Guides and Outfitters Committee, we want to congratulate you on being our 2019 SCI’s Outstanding International Professional Hunter of the Year Award winner. We were very pleased to have you as a nominee and now as our winner of this very prestigious award. You have been recognized as being one of SCI’s industry leaders, and at the top of your field with your involvement in the hunting community.

This award will be presented to you during our Annual Convention in back in Reno, NV on our Wednesday Night dinner and awards ceremony, held in the Peppermill hotel. We will provide you with two dinner tickets for this event”.

Congratulations Johnny!

Congratulations Johnny! A Truly outstanding accomplishment especially when you consider that Knot one single 2019 hunt as even taken place???

Congratulations

Congratulations to Johnny. I didn't hunt with Johnny personally, but in 2007 I had a great hunt at Wintershoek and other places with Strauss.

Once again congratulations to Johnny Vivier from @Wintershoek Safaris for winning SCI International Professional Hunter of the Year Award, it's long overdue!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
