A WA mother says asking her teenage son to swim four kilometres through rough seas to get help after their family was swept out to sea, was "one of the hardest decisions" she has ever made.

What a great story and ending. I hope they stop putting that “emotional scarred” BS in their head. Everyone in that family should not be emotionally scarred. They should be very proud that they passed a very tough test.

That boy possesses the ability few have. To block out all the reasons his mind was telling him he couldn’t swim that far. And blocked those out and just did it.

I’m sure they will be courted for a movie deal
