In Loving Memory Of My Mentor, Inspector General Of Forests Yusuf Salauddin Ahmad (1900-2000)

Great story learning about this great man. I do have a question that might sound stupid but do you now own your mentor's DB rifle ?
Why thank you, bigborelover.

His grandson owns it now in Pakistan. Along with his W.W. Greener shotgun.

Why thank you, Flbt.

Yes... I shot my three man eating Royal Bengal tigers there in 1981, 1988 & 1989. And detailed the incidents in my autobiography.

I remember in the documtry
It was about the honey collectors being attacked often. And they were told to have a mask on the back of there heads.

And that the sunderban tiger was more aggressive they thought maybe because of them drinking salty water or something like that.
Very interesting stuff. And I am glad to have meet you on this forum and I am happy to hear about your friends and colleagues. Very interesting

Yes, a mask with eyes painted on the back of the head. You see, unwounded Royal Bengal tigers never attack anything that is looking directly at them.

Thank you for sharing such great memories and inspiring experiences with us, may we all continue the sportsmanship which brought us all together here for many more years and enjoy the great outdoors.

Reading about the plight of "tiger widows" of Sunderban was really heart wrenching. Hard to believe there are cultures still so backward in the 21st century.

Thank you Hunter-Habib for sharing the story of an amazing sportsman! How might I get a copy of your book in the US? Your stories sound like a great read.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
