Great Impala! I've attached a pic of my pair--one standard and one black.

Another very nice mount! I think they are an under rated Africa game. I really enjoy hunting “the meat of Africa”!

I totally agree Phil. I took one when I went. An impala wasn’t even on my radar and one stepped out with a big group of ewes and small rams in a field about a 1/2 mile away. I was actually watching a warthog that we were about to put a stalk on. As soon as I saw the impala ram I immediately changed gears. I ended up taking a fantastic ram and was just completely in awe of how truly beautiful they really are.

I agree with Erik! Impala are lots of fun to hunt in Africa. Plentiful, skittish and hard to get close to (usually) and a beautiful game animal. The black impala is becoming more plentiful also on many of the big game properties in South Africa. It is really beautiful also. Completely coal black and the hide is like black velvet.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
