First double arrived from JJ today. .500 NE that a fine young man in Alaska was "Willing" to part with. I can't wait to shoot her...but need to name her too.

She is exactly that! I tend to hunt hard and while I absolutely love case hardening and engraving and gold metal work, I love the rounded body and bolsters on this Big Momma.Plain Jane

You shouldn't name a weapon until it has drawn blood and proven itself. Its bad luck if you do.First double arrived from JJ today. .500 NE that a fine young man in Alaska was "Willing" to part with. I can't wait to shoot her...but need to name her too.

My wallet bled pretty heavy...You shouldn't name a weapon until it has drawn blood and proven itself. Its bad luck if you do.
I'm not sure this is true... Besides, I don't believe in luck. Warships at sea are named well before they draw blood. You shouldn't name a weapon until it has drawn blood and proven itself. Its bad luck if you do.
No man, You cannot call a double rifle `Helga` ! We live in Germany & Helga is a 1920s - 1950s name, old school & outdated. Diana, the Godess of Hunting, now that would be a name! It’s German, no? Helga gets the job done.
