I missed

6mm Remington
Was hard enough before the Chinese flu
When federal offers 3 loads rem1 win 1
And Hornday 2
I have not seen federal ammo in 2 years or Winchester
My rifle doesn’t like sst

But I do have a supply of federal 80gr and some rem 100 gr corlocks
Definitely sympathetic with that plight. I sold my 6mm Rem long ago when brass and ammo was impossible to find.

I don’t reload.
But I knew the 6mm was not that common of a cartridge when I got it.
For my wife.
I lucked up and a old gun shop was closing that had green and white box Remington with 80gr corlock bought all he had for under 10 a box.
Then she and my doughter got me one for anniversary.
I liked the hornday light mag loads.
We added a few more 6 over the years.
And being around some old gun shops/ pawn shop that went out of business
Bought 80gr and 100gr silver tip Winchester.
He was going out and side since I wanted all of them I think 5$ a box.
I have keept all the brass.
Just trying to find something all the rifles like.
And I plan on having him load enough that the kids should still have ammo for them lol.

If you have brass, you’re in business. :)(y)

If I ever did miss it was because it was a nothing shot, too easy, no focus, no effort, just going through the motion of pulling the trigger. As others commented above, a good hunter will focus, aim small and squeeze that shot off with care and the attention that the animal deserves. I learnt quickly the few times it happened in my younger days, I'm pleased to say that a miss at a still animal is rare for me today.

I'm having a fair number of misses at driven wild boar, getting an accurate running shot off at a fast moving target that only gives a second or two window of time is challenging!

I'm guessing that the OP will not miss many in the future, it is a learning moment to focus and do better. Well done for writing about it.
What kind of reticle are you using? And what are you using for hold offs?

Of the 3 cartridge that had the off set lead.
Set out 4 paper plates. At 100 yds from a leadslead. The first shot was 6in to the right.
The next was about 8in low.
The last one was high completely off the plates about 14 in high.
Shot some of the normal cartridge. Printed right at 2in high right where they should.

I am going to check all the loaded ammo and pull out any that the lead is not right on.

Probably going to shoot some of the (good) ammo to make sure where it’s hitting
Or might just leave it as range ammo and get some more with a different bullet loaded

Could you post a picture of what is going on with the lead so other people know what to look for if they come across it on that ammo as well?

Thank you.

If I get any more yes I will take a pic. I have to go through the rest of the loaded ammo.
And try to post it.
I don’t know how much will show up it’s off to the side about a finger nail to the side.
When it came to my attention I did not see it.
I felt it. It Cought my nail the other did not so I looked at it close
Where I am at sometime I can post some times not.
