I just fired my newest acquisition for the first time. A custom made 505 Gibbs. I was free handing the rifle at about 25 yards. To be honest. I was more concerned about recoil than accuracy.

The recoil was nothing to be concerned with, (less felt than my light 7 Rem mag) so tomorrow or Sunday I’ll put it on sticks and shoot for a group.

The action is amazing. Loads, cycles and feeds perfect. And so smooth. The lever movement is very precise and smooth.

Olympic/Bauska BBK-02 double square bridge action
11.2 pounds
14” LOP
23” barrel

Very nice…. Look out elephants, Altitude Sickness is on the loose!

That’s a real nice looking rifle. That should have you covered for everything up to and including T-Rex.

Congratulations! That’s a nice boomstick! Love that picture of the muzzle ;)

What is the red dot that you put onto it?

Vertigo, it came with the Riton Rmr

Welcome to the club! She's a beauty for sure!

What loads are you shooting and what are you going to hunt with it?

Colorado, of course it has a lot more recoil than a 7 rem mag. But the 7mm has an average stock. A hard narrow recoil pad.

The 505 has a much beefier, better designed stock, much wider larger recoil pad. And yes 3 pounds heavier. Felt recoil is no where near what I expected.

Welcome to the club. Like you said it is shootable at 2300ft/sec. It can be pushed d to 2600. But why. Congratulations. Less Bauskas guns are well built. Especially built by less himself.

A fine looking gun! Very similar to the AHR 505 I used to own. I have some load data at home if your interested.

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
