The Hunt
The FARO EAST NORTH CAMEROON hunting area is known for the abundance of Lord Derby Eland. We have an outstanding density of what is called group A species like Western Roan and Western Buffalo. Lion and Elephant quotas are available. The remaining game like Western Hartebeest, Harnessed Bushbuck, Defassa Waterbuck, Bohor Reedbuck, Buffon's Kob, Duiker, Orebi, Red River Hog... is called group B. The hunting permit in Cameroon allows up to 2A and 4B. We hunt from January to April.

Packing list and requirements With FARO EAST NORTH CAMEROON
Hunters can bring up to 2 rifles in Cameroon. Applications for the rifle permit and visa are done in the country of origin at the local Cameroon Embassy or through the booking agent.

It is highly recommended to check in advance that the serial number of the rifle, on the rifle permit is the same as on the rifle you are taking along.

Also, when the rifle permit allows you to bring 50 ammo per gun, bring the exact number that is written on the rifle permit not more and not less. Also, make sure the rifle is set with the same ammo that will be used during hunting.

Our agent in Paris, Mathias can help you with the domestic flight from Yaounde/Doula to Garoua, hotel if needed in Yaounde/Douala, meet and greet, transfer to hotel, custom assistance in Yaounde/Douala if overnight is necessary, (do not save on this assistance). Mathias can also apply for the visa and rifle permit.

The hunting permit is obtained by the hunting outfitter. The hunter must send:
- Copy of passport
- 4 identity photos
- Copy of the visa
- Copy of the rifle permit (6 copies on landing)
- Medical prescription from a doctor saying that: the hunter is able to hunt in Cameroon

- Yellow Fever vaccine is mandatory to present on arrival to Cameroon
- Malarone treatment or equivalent is highly recommended
- Make sure to have liability insurance and repatriation with you. You may be asked to show it. Let the outfitter know in advance if you have medical restrictions or food or beverages preferences.
- Make sure to have enough EURO cash on you and not US dollars for gratuities and trophy fees unpaid upfront.

Our local staff and people from villages are happy to receive old clothes from hunters, so think about bringing some along if possible.

Use Dark green clothes, not light-colored clothing. Also, shoes to protect the ankle and strong soles are recommended. Your feet are the key to your safari. There is a laundry service at camp. Your clothes are returned clean in 24 hours.

The 220-volt generator is switched on from 6 pm to 10 pm, sometimes at nap time for air conditioning. You need all your personal medication, sun creams, eyeglasses, binoculars, a small torch/flashlight, and any personal belongings you may need.

Advisory pack list
- 2 pairs of good walking boots or running shoes (broken in). The ground can be uneven so cushioning and ankle support are recommended.
- 1 pair of sandals or lightweight shoes for the evening around the camp.
- 4 pairs of good socks
- 3 pairs of long hunting pants (dark khaki or olive green)
- 3 pairs of short hunting pants (if you are accustomed to shorts)
- 3 hunting shirts (dark khaki or olive green)
- 1 hunting jacket - Realtree type camouflage, dark khaki or olive green
- 1 warm sweater or jumper
- 1 lightweight waterproof rain jacket
- Sunscreen, cap, or hat
- Casual wear for evenings
- Personal camera equipment, binoculars, insect repellent
- Malaria prophylaxis - as per your doctor's advice
- Skin so soft by Avon (for Tetse flies)

Note
Military type camouflage is not permitted in most African countries, but Realtree types are normally accepted.

Thx ! If you are interested in a Lord Derby hunt let us know !

Great presentation! Photos are just wonderful, and trophies are amaizing!
I have few questions regarding Cameroun safari, i would appreciate if you could shed some light to it.

Are elephant and lion trophy exportable from Cameroun?

Are there security risks, expected in Cameroun? And in which areas? (i had some friends, in offshore, drillimg, and coastal shipping, and some inland projects recently, under armed escort, for security concerns)

Finally, if you could give us some pricing, trophy fees, day rates, etc? I checked your pages and could not find any rates.

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Marko,
Unfortunately Elephant and lion are not exportable to the US. The country is pretty stable now there are some issue extreme north of the country which is pretty far from us. Until now we never had a problem with any clients coming with us and we ve been operating for more than 15 years now ! We hunt in north Cameroon approximately 3 hours drive from Garoua airport. The area is approximately 200 000 acres. We are specialized in lord derby hunt but we also have western buffalo, roan and other big varieties of animals you can take. For the pricing and date info i sent you all via email and private message !

Regards,

Thank you ! Yes they are !! You want to come to cameroon and hunt one with us ?

Only wishful thinking on my part to get to return to Africa. Sadly my family’s health issues have put a hold on it. But, you never know what might happen in the future! A hike to get close to a handsome Lord Derby in an exotic location such as Cameroon would certainly be a thrill!
