How long will Texas remain conservative?

We're seeing it here in Nevada, too. The liberal sewer sludge is oozing over the hills in increasing numbers and attempting to subvert our rural conservative lifestyle. There was an attempt at a blm protest a few months ago but they were met with armed citizens and outnumbered by 10 to 1. Tucked their tails and went home. Haven't heard a peep from any of that trash since.
And that how to do it, If you tolerate such nonsense, It will only increase and continue.

I’m new to Texas but like to think I’m pretty in tune with politics, voting trends, and its tie to population changes.

My personal opinion, but based on this last election, Texas is already pretty much Purple with the cities controlling the votes. There was a noticeable shift in voting within Houston and Dallas following Hurricane Katrina in the 2006 midterms and 2008 Presidential elections. Large numbers of NOLA residents were temporarily relocated to those cities, with many opting to stay. Personally I think 3 more presidential election cycles and it’ll be Blue at the federal level but it’ll take a lot longer at the state level. I thought 4 years ago Georgia would be Blue this past election cycle after spending 3 months in Atlanta and it was.

In my opinion a bigger issue facing conservative voters isn’t the influx of blue voters into the South and states like Texas, it’s the number of blue voters who work in the education field. Never before have so many younger people voted. It’s not a bad thing they’re voting BUT they’re all being conditioned to lean a certain direction by the education system and it’s professionals. Conservatives tend to not work in the education field, and it’s impacting the next 40 years of elections in a major way.
They do work in the educational field but the conservative mind set make them respect everyone's view and opinion. A typical conservative play by the rule book. I have heard of a female teacher who spoke against a woke style of teaching in schools and she lost her Job, Many has been ridiculed and shamed for their conservative voice in today's America....Its really unsettling as our kids are growing fast and will be injected into this current society.
It is simply time to fight back. They already think we are racist so what's left to be afraid of ?

Gonna take issue with the assertion that "it's not a bad thing they're voting." It most ricky tick is a bad thing for horribly uninformed, emotional people can control our lives.

I'm in favor of repealing the 19th amendment, and re-instituting property ownership as a requirement to vote. People who do not have skin in the game should not have the luxury of how the money of the rest of us is spent.

I can respect your opinion, but the framers of our constitution created the electoral college for the very reason of uneducated voters.

My personal belief is as a United States Citizen you have the right to vote. This right is granted indifferent of your position, knowledge, or financial stature. The only thing I believe that can strip a citizen of this right to vote is failure to abide by the social contract we all enter; meaning conviction of a felony. More than 1.1 Million Americans have died for that right, with millions more shedding their blood, sweat, and tears to protect it. A VAST majority of those who died never owned property including a bunch I knew; yet they all stood and were willing to lay down their life. I know of a ton of veterans, including several PH recipients, and 2 amputees who do not own property. They've got more skin in the game than 99.99999999% of property owners.

The problem here is the Immigration system, Needs to be stricter IMHO. Every country on the planet worries about population is not just an American thing. All human are free to migrate to wherever they please. But they have to meet with certain requirements. I am sure not everyone can walk into, Iran, Iraq, or sudan.
The liberal Tv shows, news network, social media has been pushing the young voters towards the left and it has been working. This is the issue at hand.

At least one member of the Austin city council is an avowed Socialist. The liberal Austin mayor posts pix of his family vacations in other countries when the USA is on "lock down". There was a movement afoot to throw out the entire liberal city council, but it must have failed. Too bad.
Because people are not ruthless enough. Being nice to liberals is not going to make them go away.

You have the right to vote, but Dominion and others will make damn sure your vote doesn't count. As Pigface Pelosi said before the 2020 election, it won't matter what the result is on election night, Joe Biden will be President. She knew the fix was in.

No arguments from me there or to @Probono 's comments.

While I believe voting is a right not a privilege, I see zero issues with requiring an ID proving citizenship and your ability to vote to exercise that right. I need to do it to exercise my Second Amendment right why shouldn't I to vote.

Too many loop holes are the problem, They all need to be closed at least for another 100 years.
Voting is only for citizens and the fact its being debated is pathetic.

Salient point there is "skin in the game." I'm certainly not opposed to Heinlein's ideas on citizenship as illustrated in Starship Troopers.

I was a 4F, though, so I couldn't do things via that route my own self (spontaneous pneumothorax at 18). In the 80s, when I was of that age, spontaneous was permanent contraindication to military service.

I am quite simply opposed to the idea that "everybody" should vote. Half the population, by DFF, has an IQ below 100. I do not want them to vote.

The electoral college was indeed created, like most of our republican (small r) system of government institutions to prevent tyranny by the majority - educated or otherwise. I can't imagine even the most liberal minded delegate (to include Jefferson) imagining a time of true universal suffrage. Remember, at the time the constitution was created, the franchise was indeed envisioned to be limited to male property owners. That has obviously changed. Whether that change has been in the nation's interest or not is, I think, open to honest debate, regardless of what sacrifices any serviceman may have made. Indeed, like Robert Heinlein, I might very well be convinced that military or equivalent service should be a prerequisite for having the right of franchise.

But there are clearly "citizens" in our country who have no business determining the course of this country through their vote. As we saw in the last election, they become lists on registration forms susceptible to vote harvesting schemes and exploitation.

There is no way to turn back the clock and repeal the laws and amendments that created universal suffrage. But, there is still time to take actions to insure some effort is required for the actual registered voter to cast his or her actual vote.

I believe Tx will remain conservative, They just need to keep new comers on their toes on how things are being done around.
Years ago----years ago---I read the account of a Texas real estate broker who had sold a hill country ranch to a Californian. She said he told her "my driveway in LA paid for this place".

What do you define as property? Land/real estate or ?

As for people who do not own property not having skin in the game- I assume most of them pay income taxes- which are a major source of funds for the US government. So I would think that people who do not own any real estate still should have a say how their money/taxes are spent.

Another thing i find confusing, lets say you have the 2 following people. Person A is someone living in a big expensive city like LA or New York and they are pulling in 6 figures a year, but they live in a rented place/condo. And then you have person B, who lives in a house (which they own) and inherited it from their family and it is located in a poorer part of the country. Their salary is sub 30 k a year. How could you say this person has more skin in the game than the first? Despite the fact that unlike the first individual they do own property. Who also contributes more $$ to taxes etc... ? Who should have a bigger say?

I'd also like to add, speaking of property ownership and by extension wealth- some of the wealthiest areas in America are also the bluest. So I'm not really sure if this suggestion would even help the cause of stemming America's rising liberalism...

Voting is for anyone the Alinsky-Democrat party wants it to be. Why do you think aliens are pouring in over the southern border - although it doesn't really make sense when the Alinskyites can rig the vote any way and any time they care to, so the invasion must be to dilute the population and break up the resistance.

They will destroy our country for we don't take charge, Politics is too serious to be left alone to politicians.

Sadly here in Colorado our “Dumocrat” congress and head dictator are trying to eliminate the electoral college. Ignorance and understanding about the purpose of the electoral college by the masses is sad.

You would think these DUMB LiBERALS would add 1+1 together and figure out the Democratic Platform they are running away from should be changing their minds and seeking a change that works. If the Democratic philosophy is so grand why is everyone leaving Democratic States moving to Republican States?

There are a lot of issues to unpack here, and I certainly get your take on them.

The first thing needs clearing up is I never asserted property ownership was a perfect criterion, simply that it is far preferable to universal suffrage. It also doesn't mean all property owners will choose wisely, merely that those who are casting ballots actually have skin in the game.

Universal suffrage has ensured the world will be filled with fools. They have voted for a system which almost absolutely shields them from bad decisions.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say they've voted for a system that actively encourages bad decisions by rewarding the people who have made a habit of bad decisions.
