How long will Texas remain conservative?

Texas is a republic not a state, it came into the USA with that written in its constitution..The can walk out on any give day..

Texas was a Republic, now it's a state.

I read Governor Newsom is going to tax people before they can leave California! Crazy! Why don’t they quit wasting money? Seems that would help more than anything. Oh, I forgot it’s a government. A government can’t do anything to reduce costs, only increase costs!

Getting around paying CA tax on any money earned in the state is damn near impossible. They are extremely aggressive. They have an Arts and Entertainer tax, so any money made in the state from either area is taxed. When the Houston Astros play a series in LA, they pay CA state income tax on their prorated pay for those games.

For me, even the money I make on a 1099 basis from a CA company, for work that happens in the state, gets taxed. I have zero connection to the state, either personal or corporate, but they still nail you.

North Carolina is heading rapidly to the communist side of stupidity. Our influx of liberals come from New York and New Jersey looking for lower tax rates and then they vote for the same thing they run away from! I'm watching to see when they far gone liberal states implode and a wave of conservative voters reverse the trend. Unfortunately by then we will be so screwed up that there will be no U. S of A to speak of.

While I don’t live in Austin, I am very familiar with Austin. For years, the motto was “Keep Austin Weird.” It always has had waiters with PhD’s who could never get a job and leave UT. It was alway very Liberal and Democratic, as lots of government workers and UT faculty, staff and students. More and more folks just keep moving there, along with Round Rock/Georgetown to the North and Buda/Kyle/San Marcos to the south.

Now, Austin can’t build high rise condos fast enough, and east Austin, where a few years ago, where most folks would not set foot in, has been “ gentrified” and a hot housing market. Out 2222 towards Lake Travis and out Bee Caves are booming housing areas too.

Unfortunately, it is no longer just a blue nipple on a red tit. Travis, Hays and now Bexar are blue. The only holdout is Comal, which the D’s are making a hard push to turn blue. I suspect they would love to turn Williamson County Blue too. If that happens, that’s a lot of voters. With Harris and Dallas County’s already blue it will not be long until its competitive and then B thereafter.

Well, maybe. Most folks say the ability of Texas to walk away, may not be available any longer after Lincoln remitted the confederate states back into the Union. While everyone agrees that we still have the ability to split into 5 states.

The sad thing with Texas is how close to half the voters voted in this last election.

52.1% for Trump and 46.5% for Biden with only a 631,221 vote difference.

Then look at how many liberal voters that will turn 18 between now and 2024. That 631,221 vote difference can disappear real quick.

I hope this guy is correct for all you Texan’s sake!

Williamson county went blue in this last election. It was until recently one of the most conservative counties in Texas. Texas is only a "red" state by the narrowest margin.

With the Tesla, and other mega companies moving to Texas, we'll be overrun with liberal idiots in no time....we put the border patrol on the wrong river!
If we can't drain the academic swamp, the whole nation is doomed.

I believe Texas will be liberal democrat in all future Presidential elections. This was their last Republican vote. Like California, once a solid Republican State, the lowering of the voting age to 18 and the rapid influx of immigrants (now set to ramp up) will change the demographics within 2 or 3 years. With regard to hunting, and hunting Africa specifically, very few immigrants or 18 year olds hunt. It is easy to swing their votes against us. I'm concerned about this. The cancelation of the DSC event sure doesn't help. Best of luck to all my Texas hunting friends...........................FWB

The city people do the same thing when they move to the country. The squatters buy small acres and build a big fancy house. Than they want a rural fire department to lower their insurance. They want leash law because some farmers dog chased them on their bicycle. The bitch about a cow that's out. Want the sheriff hanging around more. Pretty soon the country just like town. The country is just getting more urbanized. We are becoming more like Europe and there is no stopping it.
Birth Control?

Agree. TX should have told them no. I am less than 20 miles from the insanity going on in Portland, OR. Once a nice city, now a sewer. I believe Portland is the most recent and 3rd best example (after SF and Seattle) of why Progressivism is a disease. It kills what ever city it infects.

Yep, I'm 60 miles to the east of PDX and will never return to my hometown nor do business there except to fly out of the airport. I may pass through to visit family.

I do hope that Texas benefits from the recent business, but does not suffer the brunt of liberal ingress in its politics. I would like to live there someday, but not if polluted by liberalism....

For you Texans, see Seattle and don't let it become you:

Beware and please stand and fight.

I'm not American. And am in a country where Democrats would be on the furthest right of the political parties.

I fail to see what this has to do with African hunting, or why its not in the 'Politics' thread.
Oxford Cat...Because it is driving up prices & ruining hunting all over the U.S. for those of us the live here.

Boise,Idaho homes are selling like crazy for $250 to &300 a square foot..Locals are being run out by Californians....other parts of state are outrageous too....

I'm not insinuating that you are old but I believe you to have a few years on me. My old boss many moons ago told me Obama was going to win the election (the first time). I used logic and reason as to why he would not win. Obama did not stand for the American people the American way of life. He looked at me and said " I have seen this before, you can believe me or not".

He taught me a valuable lesson, with age comes wisdom.

They have buses full of illegals coming across our borders in Texas everyday. It's sickening to see the crime rising from this. Politicians don't care about the people... it's the power and the money.

I am a transplant in Texas and I love this state and the proud people in it. That said we will not stay red, in fact I'm not sure how many states will be red in the next 10 years given the influx of illegal immigrants.

The saddest part of all, we are all watching this happen and no one is doing anything about it. We will lose our rights a little at a time til we have none remaining.

I’m new to Texas but like to think I’m pretty in tune with politics, voting trends, and its tie to population changes.

My personal opinion, but based on this last election, Texas is already pretty much Purple with the cities controlling the votes. There was a noticeable shift in voting within Houston and Dallas following Hurricane Katrina in the 2006 midterms and 2008 Presidential elections. Large numbers of NOLA residents were temporarily relocated to those cities, with many opting to stay. Personally I think 3 more presidential election cycles and it’ll be Blue at the federal level but it’ll take a lot longer at the state level. I thought 4 years ago Georgia would be Blue this past election cycle after spending 3 months in Atlanta and it was.

In my opinion a bigger issue facing conservative voters isn’t the influx of blue voters into the South and states like Texas, it’s the number of blue voters who work in the education field. Never before have so many younger people voted. It’s not a bad thing they’re voting BUT they’re all being conditioned to lean a certain direction by the education system and it’s professionals. Conservatives tend to not work in the education field, and it’s impacting the next 40 years of elections in a major way.

Stay strong my Texas friends! We conservatives in Colorado have been overwhelmed by the progressives (liberal socialist, Marxist bastards) for more than a decade now. Traitor moderate Demorat Governor Hickenlooper (now Senator) sold us out to the leftists, after being supported my many Republicans. Never again! Some states may turn blue from purple, but as I predicted here after Sleepy China Joe was elected, the 2022 mid terms are going to be a slaughter for the Demorats. It may be the largest turnover from Demorats to Republican in the HISTORY of mid term elections! People across this country have come out of their Covid/Riots induced comas, to see the reality of Sleepy Joe's America. Massive crime increases while the Marxist's are calling for the defunding of police, Critical Race Theory adopted by some school districts attempting to usurp the Constitution in schools, out of control immigration policy (well, no policy), attempting to disarm law abiding citizens while releasing more criminals from prison and fewer LE personnel to counter that, paying people NOT to work through enhanced benefits, pimping to Iran, Russia and China, higher fuel prices, higher inflation and thus higher interest rates to counter that, weaker dollar, multi trillion dollar "free money" stimulus', etc., etc. I'm sure I missed some additional "benefits". Welcome to Joe's America! Hopefully, in 2022, ALL voters will have had enough and vote Republican!

If it hasn't sold by next week I might be interested. Stock would have to be changed along with some other items. I'm already having a 416 Rigby built so money is a tad bit tight.
