I am joining to find some information out about values of safari rifles. Someone locally referred me to this group. My uncle has passed away and he asked me to help his family sell some of his guns before he passed. He has a few safari rifles and I haven't had much luck selling one of them locally so I am trying to find out values on the others and may sell them online if I don't have luck locally. Thanks

Welcome! Where in Louisiana are you located? To be frank with you, a brand new member to AH, showing up and wanting to sell rifles, is going to have a bit of difficulty. No track record, no credibility established. Photos and detailed descriptions and prices would be a good first step. Go onto GunBroker or one of the other online gun selling sites and see what similar rifles are selling for. Good luck. If you have interesting rifles and they are fairly priced, you should have several willing buyers.

I'm outside of Baton Rouge. I didn't say anything about selling anything on this site. I'm trying to sell locally, but if they don't sell locally then I will post online on gunbroker or any other site. I have only listed one of his safari rifles so far and haven't got any interest locally on the sportsman and bayou shooter, someone from bayou shooter told me that I should come here. I also posted on another site, but haven't had much interest there either. I am trying research what these rifles are worth to make sure that I price them correctly. The rifle I have listed is an interarms mauser, he asked me to sell it with a few other rifles he wanted to let go first before he passed away, but he has four or five other safari rifles and I don't know anything about them. So this would be a good place to find out what similar guns are going for and sure I might want to list something on here at some point if there is no interest elsewhere. I didn't post pictures in this thread, this is just an introduction post. I was just posting about why I joined the site because I thought that this section is for that.
