Good morning all.

I came across this forum after doing a bit of research on some old English calibers.

I genuinely didn’t realise big game hunting was still possible. Rabbit and fox are my biggest trophies if you can call them that.

A few of you will have seen some of my posts since joining. I have recently purchased a lot of old English casings and heads, as part of Kynoch / Kynamco (UK) closing down. These calibers are quite scarce, but obviously quite relevant to a lot of people on this forum.

I’ll try to post in the classified section, but forum rules normally preclude this for a while.

I work full time, with shooting having been a hobby for a long time.

Welcome to the group — and congrats on snagging those Kynoch/Kynamco relics. Serious vintage gold! Rabbits and foxes might not sound flashy, but they’re real trophies when you're out in the field. Plenty of us here live for that old-school British shooting heritage, so you’ve definitely come to the right place. Looking forward to seeing what you share — and who knows, maybe one day we’ll all be jealous of your next big (ish) catch!

Welcome aboard!

Hi everyone, I’ve finally decided to create an account after spending some time browsing the forum. I’m still pretty new here myself, so I thought I’d take a moment to say hello and properly introduce myself to the community.

Welcome

Do you mean present day Kynamco is closing down or back when they were “Kynoch”?

Welcome to AH!

Unfortunately modern day Kynamco is closing down. Last day of trade was yesterday. Quite gutted about the whole thing to be honest

Welcome to the forum!

As a kid watching movies, Tarzan, King Solomon mines, out of Africa, Ghost and Darkness, Daktari, Mogambo, documentaries Anglia - Survival, etc, I grew up dreaming of hunting safari, being certain it was not anymore possible.

In my 30ties, I was even more certain this is not possible, watching animal planet, discovery and national Geographic. This is what media wanted us to believe. (safari a decadent relic of the past?)

Then the internet came, and I discovered hunting safari is still possible, there is entire industry behind it, I made few years of thorough research of this, bought and read plenty of books, joined this forum, and went on first safari.
By now, 4 safaris completed. trophies at home. In average, I go to safari every two years.

Bottom line, if finding interest in true safari, make research, find outfitter and go. It is as simple as that.
There is something for every client, in every financial level.
I know it is not simple to buy high power rifle in UK, but rental rifles are available in all camps.
My advise is to go as soon as possible as long as you can import to UK at least some of the trophies.

Welcome on board from north west England. Can you let me know what you have for sale?

@mark-hunter we can have any caliber single shot rifles here if we have a need for it. It’s just pistols, semis (except .22LR) and full auto we can’t have.

@SRvet I’ve just put a classified ad up, but I do have more stuff that I figured our international friends wouldn’t be interested in. I’ll PM a full list to you.

Hello! I’ve recently gotten interested in hunting and decided to join the community. I’m hoping this is a friendly place that welcomes newcomers ;)

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
