Thanks for having me. I joined to follow the story of missing Outfitter, Scott van Zyl of SSPro Safaris, taken by crocs in Zimbwe this month. Scott gave me the best hunt and the greatest trip of my life in South Africa. Rest in Peace Scott.

Welcome to AH! Sorry it was under those circumstances. We look forward to your contribution on the site!

Thanks, Yes I agree. I liked Scott a lot, he was as we in Australia say "A good bloke". I am watching closely to see what the investigation comes up with.

I've always enjoyed my 7 trips to Africa. My wife has been with me on 5 occasions, 2 of the hunts. She was at SSPro in 2012 and again with me last year. I'm not sure if we will return to RSA, but may look to another country.

Welcome Nitro450. Scott's demise was sad and unfortunate. But one thing I'm sure of is that he would want to have all of us "learn" from it, or at least make us more cautious around rivers that contain crocks. What kind of game did you hunt previously? What are your future hunting plans? What kind of rifles do you own?

Welcome to AH sir!

Welcome to AH! I hope we get to hear more about your hunts!

Welcome to AH.
When you get a moment write a hunt report of your hunt with Scott and share it with us.

I have hunted Plains Game on my 4 hunts, No big stuff out of my price range. Plus some of the trophies can't be imported here. i.e. leopard, elephant etc.
I have a collection of British single and double barrelled rifles from 450 Nitro down to the humble 22 RF. There are 7 antique percussion rifles in the mix which includes an 8 Bore single. I shoot most of them as I get a chance. Can't see myself back in Africa to hunt again, I like looking around these days although we hunt minor game here, feral pigs, goats etc, nothing muchhere unless you go to the Territory for Asian Buffalo at inflated cost.

Welcome to the family Nitro450!

Welcome! It would be nice to read about your hunt with Scott.

Nitro450 a fellow Oz. My 6 weeks in Africa didn't include a hunt but love the country.

Welcome to AH, I also would like to hear more on your hunt with Scott.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
