Have read this site extensively in the run up to my first African safari and thought that it was finally time to create an account and introduce myself.

My hunting experience has so far been largely limited to the UK. My first love is driven game shooting (pheasants, partridge, grouse) in the traditional English style and I still do that a few times each season but, in the past 5 years, this has been somewhat taken over by deer stalking (lowland for roe, muntjac, water deer and fallow as well as an annual pilgrimage to 'the hill' in Scotland for reds).

I enjoy all aspects of pursuing 'big game' here at home, whether guided or DIY, foot stalking or watching the world come alive from a high seat that I've snuck in to pre-dawn. I also enjoy turning the deer that I shoot in to meat for the table that I share with friends and family.

My international hunting experience so far consist of driven boar in France and a recent trip to Mallorca to stalk Balearic boc.

I fly to SA for my first safari on Friday (2 days and counting...!) and have found this site, and its members to be an invaluable resource so thank you all.

I have my cigars, whisk(e)y and watch ready to add to the relevant threads and will also follow up with a hunting report when I'm back!

Glad you have enjoyed the site.
Welcome to the posting side of AH.
Look forward to your hunt report.
Good luck on your hunt.

Welcome. Have a great trip and hunt in South Africa. I'm a fellow Brit who now spends a lot of time in the US.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
