Hello from the UK

Welcome, great introduction. You and your Rigby need to go to Africa. I had a chance to use an original .275 Rigby in Zambia to harvest a chobe bushbuck last year and they are a sweet shooting rifle. Don't let it be a safe queen.

CLS,

I quite agree with you – no fine rifle should be a ‘safe queen’.

The Rigby does get exercised on the range but my reluctance to take it on a first safari is that I’d prefer to take just one rifle to keep things a simple as possible. Although I’m well used to using aperture sights I’d prefer something with a scope on for my first trip; really to ensure I’ve got as much versatility as possible as I’ll have no prior African experience to guide me.

Well done with the Bushbuck - fascinating animals & so well described in Peter Flacks volume on the species. A really good bushbuck would be to me what the Kudu was to Hemmingway.

Regards
Russ
