Gun or caliber you’ve never owned but always wanted?

308 carbine of any kind, never owned a 308.

Marlin 1895 in 45-70 (stainless)
Browning falling block in any caliber
Ruger #1 in 35 Whelen

As I get older I’m less enamored with having lots of different calibers and would rather have a nice rifles in a handful of calibers. A Blaser R8 is on the top of my list, and even if I have to go with an entry-level option I would like to add a Mauser or Sauer to my Steyr. Can you tell I like German rifles?

The exception to my general rule is that I’d REALLY like to have a double rifle in .450/400 one day. Heym or Merkel tops my list but I’m not going to be picky if someone would like to buy one for me!

Nice try![emoji4]

Also always wanted a Browning twelvette.

416 Rigby
45-70
.25 Cal (25-06, 257, 25WSSM, etc)
28 Gauge (just acquired)

Winchester model 70 safari express in 404Jef with dies, lots of brass and bullets. Got a Montana Rifle Co. American Legends 06 with fancy Turkish walnut wood coming in March. I handled it at the SCI show and was immediately hooked.

I can't get on board with MRC and their version of the "African" rifle.
They stuck their toe in the water but didn't jump in.
PH action not available on all the DG rifles, no iron sights, no barrel band front sling swivel...a 458 Lott that weighs 6 lb, 15 oz. ?!?!
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

liegeriver,
do not go for a 45 cal case longer than 2 7/8" in your shiloh.
the 3 1/4" case was in fact never a sharps chambering, and is more trouble than it is worth for no gain.
if you are not using black powder but smokeless, the 45/70 will give enough recoil for comfort in a sharps, particularly the quigley, who's stock is not at all good for recoil.
interestingly shiloh offers as an alternative a period correct paper patch chamber for bullets patched to bore diameter as they were in the day.
bruce.

I always wanted a 220 Swift and a 25/06 or 257 Weatherby. Use if such??? Very little as I have other calibers that will do much the same.
I have a22/250 that is close to the swift and 270s etc.
I simply don’t have the time to go hunting and at the moment with an almighty wet season all I could hunt would be frogs, toads, And snails![emoji4]

I'd like a nice svelte German kipplauf - single shot stalking rifle. One can dream.

Maybe something like this?

Krieghoff Hubertus with Schmidt & Bender 4 x 36.

Well hopefully within the next year I’ll be getting a cz550 416rigby or 458lott. Probably gonna get the AHR #2 done on it. I’m not to concerned about upgrading the wood. Will be my first big bore to own. Have fired several.

8 X 68S built on a Win M70 action

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
