Tasted like chicken Roasted over an open fire. A bit different texture than my croc. Have no plans to replace beef with reptile

I’ve had a weird occurrence happen to me where I was actually stalked rather than charged.

I was on leased hunting property during turkey season and was after a gobbler that had been on the backside of a cypress pond. There was this grassy access road that went in between two cypress/gum stands of timber that always held water. The road was high and on an old railroad tram. I crawled on my stomach for 150 yds till I could see into the cow pasture on the other side of the stand of timber. I got the turkey I was after. He was harassing some hens and didn’t see me sneak up.

After I collected the turkey and was walking back down the tram road to my truck, I seen a HUGE slide in the road that looked like a flat bottom sled of sand had been dragged down the road. After I looked a little more, I seen the tracks and drags of a huge alligator that had come up onto the road out of the water almost exactly where I had got down on my stomach to crawl towards the turkeys. It had followed me for about 40-50 yds until I seen where it slid back off into the water on the same right side of the grassy road. I never seen it, never heard it.

Felt very weird after that. Was stalked by an alligator (ON LAND) and never even knew it till
I was walking back and seen the tracks and slides, but never seen the animal itself.
you are possibly lucky it heard your shot at the turkey and spooked off?......

Charged by a Water Buffalo Bull in Argentina in 2023, a Cape Buffalo Bull in 2025, and am warily looking forward to a Tuskless hunt in 2027. P.S....Both charges stopped FEET away. No one hurt. Quite shocking to experience and makes for interesting conversation anywhere! Charged by a Russian wild boar in Canada. Leapt straight up off the ground and grabbed onto 2 trees conveniently positioned a shoulder's length apart. no one hurt but the boar soon after! Had a Pit Bull leap by a screen door and grab me 3 times before its young girl owner tackled it down a short length of outside stairs. my back and calf were multicolored bruises for many days afterwards. Other than a shredded work t-shirt and jeans, I escaped serious injury.

I’m a forester, so snakes and wild dogs are just part of the landscape.

One afternoon I was walking a tract and crossed a Georgia roadside ditch when I met a particularly ill-tempered serpent—a timber rattler.

Instinct took over. I drew my sword like King Arthur pulling Excalibur (maybe it was a machete).

As the snake struck, I met him in mid-air and separated his head from his body…..True story. Slightly embellished by time and memory.

Now, speaking of unprovoked attacks—this one didn’t happen to me, but to a coworker.

We were in the green swamp area outside Wilmington, North Carolina, when he was crossing a roadside ditch and a water moccasin struck. As we all know, they’re ill-tempered and mildly aggressive.

The snake sank its fangs into the cuff of his khaki pants. At that point, neither the moccasin knew how to get loose, nor did my coworker know how to escape.

So he did what any rational man would do—he began running in circles, snake in tow, screaming like a girl and stripping his pants while the snake, equally confused, flailed on the ground.

The moccasin eventually wriggled free and departed unharmed. My coworker’s dignity did not.

if you pickup there Joeys
Friend picked up a joey from a road kill, they make great pets with heaps of personality.
UNTIL they start digging under the house and undermining the foundations. It was then rewilded a couple of 100kms away.

That's what it looks like to survive a moose attack. I was unarmed and she left me for dead in the snow
Moose don’t get enough credit for how dangerous they can be. I’ve been charged by moose on three separate occasions, and I wasn’t hunting them any of those times. First, a cow, came right at me while I was out hiking alone. I stepped behind a spruce tree and she stopped. Very close, like 2-3 yards. I had my .454 drawn and ready to put her down, but shouting seemed to help change her mind. Second, a young bull during a tough winter, charged me in my driveway, but I just got in my truck and honked the horn until he went away. Third, a huge bull, biggest I’ve ever seen in person, came after me and my brother while we were hunting caribou. We side stepped out of his way, got into the thick timber and made our way downhill as quickly as possible. That big bull followed us almost a mile. When we got back to the truck he was right there behind us. My .270 felt like a BB gun in my hands that day!

rabid feral cat in parents garage when I was about 12. Mom saw it "acting funny" in yard and sent me to "check it". It WAS acting funny-- walking kinda sideways, foaming, walking into trees, etc. I was too young and dumb (and full of cum) to be scared-- when it walked into our family garage I followed it. Couldn't see it til I looked up and it was on a rafter hissing at me. Turned to run but it jumped and clawed my shirt-- the fall stunned it enough I was able to grab a pitchfork and impale it. It sputtered and hissed for what seemed like forever. Died on the garage floor. I left it where it was and we called police and they hauled it off warning us of possibility of rabies transmission based on its behavior. Diagnosis later confirmed. Close call for a naive 12 yr old! I've always been a little afraid of cats since then.
