New "kid" on the block (63 years :D)

Learned about this place on AR.
I have been a hunter for many years, red deer, roe deer and moose in my native Norway, pluss both waterfowling and upland bird hunting.

A bit "americanised" in my choice of firearms, mostly Ruger and Kimber.
Calibers 270 Win. 308 Win, 35 Whelen and 375 Ruger for the time beeing.
As well as shotguns and rimfire.

Twice to RSA for plains game, and are planning the third trip in 2011 to Namibia.

Will retire this year, have 6 grandchildren, and a 35 foot sailboat so no problem with filling in the days ;)
Former mariner (world wide), ex army officer, and the last 3o years offshore oilfield worker (logistic supervisor).
Handloader for many years and love hunting and shooting.

Have some Irish blood in my veins way back, love Guiness and Single Malt Whisky from the Scottish Isles.

Welcome new "kid". Have already been enjoying your posts and pictures. Glad to have you here :).
I too spent many years hunting Roe deer, Red deer, Boars, Waterfowl and Upland Birds in France, no Moose though! I'm particularly fond of driven Boar and Bird hunts, I love the action... followed up by a nice Scotch!
Sounds like you'll be getting off to a good start on your retirement with a hunting safari in Namibia, I think that you'll really like the country.

Thank you Jerome.
No boars i Norway, but lots of hunters travel to Sweden, Poland and the Baltic states for them. They are on my list as well :D

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.

Hi Paul,
This is Daniel from Mankazana Safaris.

I saw your post regarding a hunt in Africa. I am sure you have been bombarded with messages and replies from other outfitters, so I will keep this one quick.
I have a feeling we have exactly what you need for a first safari.
If you'd like to hear more, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Yours sincerely,
