Form 4457 no longer sufficent to export firemarms

The interesting part is allow a few extra hours to declare firearms to CBP. I have never had to declare my guns to CBP at JFK in the past and I have been traveling to hunt for over 30 years. All I had to do is have Port Police inspect then take me to TSA for their inspection. Now what??? We have to call a CBP agent to the ticket counter also???? I ve been in contact with Robert and Rosella of SSI the past 2 days. They are getting down to the bottom of this and will advise us. This is what I don't understand.. Since most of us already have a 4457 form.. Assist the traveler to complete a CBP Form 4457 to assist in an issue free return to the U.S.

I thanked him for addressing this issue, even tho we are not "out of the woods" on this, at least someone in government is aware of our problem and making an attempt to address it.

I did the same thing. Right thing do do.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
