Firearms Permits

Just a note on who to avoid for firearms permits and who you can count on.

Arranged to have Hunter Permits Africa (Adele Janse Van Rensburg) to handle my firearms permits. Made contact, completed and returned the form exchanged msgs etc. Advised Gio at Gracy travel of that and he included that info to his staff at OR Tambo.

Bruce and Michael met me as promised, guided me all the way. Helped me try to locate Hunters Permits . They never showed up.....

Bruce/Michael called Adele to inquire as to where she was. Not at the airport, was not coming to the airport. Showed them the completed forms for Hunters Permits, and the msgs we had exchanged. They gave that info to Adele. She said she had no record of me or my permit process application with her. They asked if she would come to the airport to handle it. She refused.

Now Gracy travel/ Bruce and Michael took me under their wing. Escorted me to the SAP office, told them what the issue was and then took the time to help me complete the process. They were under no obligation to do so and could have walked away. They completely bailed me out of what could have been a several hour delay and got it all squared away, ensured I was all good to go and then escorted me to the hotel for the night. They picked me up in the AM and made sure I got on my way with no further issues.

To say I was impressed with the customer service is an understatement. I will unequivocally recommend and trust Gracy Travel/ Gio/Bruce and Michael!!!! Professional, caring and set the bar EXTREMELY high for any competitors.

I will also unequivocally NEVER recommend Hunters Permits Africa! I can accept that somehow they misplaced my information. But when they were told I had their completed forms in my hand and had msgs to/from them and STILL refused to show up, leaving me in a lurch, that's just plain CRAP customer service. Do yourself a favor and avoid Hunters Permits Africa at all costs!

Glad it all turned out ok. Bruce is THE MAN at Tambo. Curious as to why you didn't do Gracy's online application and let them handle the permits.

If you booked your travel through Gracy why did you have a 3rd party arrange your rifle permit when Gracy does it? I never heard of Hunters Permits Africa prior to now. Why did you choose them?

I have always used Henry@riflepermits. Exceptional service. All the outfits are good
when you don't have an issue! It's when you do have an issue you find out who has the best service. I had a screw up in 2019. Probably my fault.Had to change a serial #. They told me the office computer wasn't working. The gentleman with Henry took the officer aside and a miracle happened. The computer began working and I was out in 15 minutes. In 2017 I was told my guns hadn't arrived. I told them I saw them as I was walking from the gate to the reception. Well they could send a porter to look for them for a small fee. Again the gentleman from Henry has a very quick and angry response and my guns appeared and I went to the front of the line. It's all good until it isn't then you will see if the service you hired was worth it!

So sorry you had a bad experience at the airport. Glad there were people there to fix it for you, and all us hunters here can and should learn something from your mishap. Thanks,
