After waiting years and looking at all the options and asking everyone’s thoughts I’ve bought a new Krieghoff .470. I’ve visited Alamo Sporting Arms in San Antonio and handled their guns at every show for a few years now. They are fitting it to me and putting the see through sights on it and I’ll pick it up when I get home. Lots of fun at the SCI show!
Regards
Philip

Congrats Philip, may you slay many buffaloes with your double :D Cheers:

Good stuff, congrats!!!

Congrats Philip!

Congrats Philip! You now have the foundation for many more hunting stories!!!

Well done mate! I’ve got see thru sites on my 9.3x74R. They work well for hunting - easy to see and quick to align, not great for rang work as the bead covers too much of the target but that’s not what double is for anyways.

Congrats Philip! If my ears didn't deceive me yesterday, seems you put your prize to immediate use!!

Congratulations on the new addition. May you have many memorable adventures with her!

Congrats Phillip, it looks good on you. What will be your first quarry with it?

Outstanding - I personally don't think you could have bought a better one for under 80k or so.

Can't wait to hear the first hunt report!

Yep I won that $500 raffle and put it towards the K gun. Every little bit helps!

Not sure but buffalo or sawed horn rhino are possibilities

A fine rifle to complement your 357 Ruger!

IF YOU DON'T COME UP WITH ANY .458, I WILL TRY AND GET MY KID TO PACK SOME UP FOR YOU BUT PROBABLY WOUDN'T BE TILL THIS WEEKEND AND GO OUT NEXT WEEK.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
