DSC Dallas summer convention

Nope, wrong time of year for me. To busy with work and no outfitter that I really might want to talk to about future hunt.

Outfitters I need to see from Botswana, Namibia and South Africa will be there. So will lots of friends from around the world. Who wouldn't want to spend a few days in that environment?

I work near the Gaylord Texan so I will attend Thursday afternoon until closing. I want to see a few friends and look for my next big hunt.

Wish we could make it but we just returned from our own first Safari this past weekend and are both playing catch up at work.

Had a thread on it a while back.

My opinion hasn't changed

Agreed but I'm still going....

I consider it a consolation prize after they announced the Atlanta move the week after I bought my $1,500 life membership.

I’ll be there Saturday. I think there was another thread on this subject and quite a few from around DFW will be there.

Volunteered during move-in. Lots of great outfitters from all over the world! Also some really nice gear.

I counted 14 or so Africa outfits listed in the directory. I'm sure there are other vendors that aren't obviously African that might also have Africa type hunts etc

I have have a family member attending, I will be getting daily reports.

Going Friday as I live near there.

Bought a day ticket to attend on Friday. Though I want to talk to a couple of vendors on specific topics, I'm mainly curious to experience the vibe and to see how well it's attended.

I’ll be there Friday evening and Saturday. Hopefully, it will go more smoothly than Atlanta.

It is the middle of the hunting season in Africa, so any African outfitters attending probably are not that successful.

It is probably just vendors and people selling deer leases.
Seems like most of the better teams have a USA agent to handle the tire kickers and good leads, for a follow up email or call . Then spend the winter/ summer/ rainy season
Grooming past and prospective clients.
I despise both Nashville and Atlanta, and prefer to spend time and money in Africa then those two hell holes , “ hay dos pinche madre “ why DSC became a S***show and left Dallas
Is beyond comprehension, but the TTHA show is still better than nothing.

I think it’s actually more the opposite with regards to the African outfitters attending, given the names I saw; Zambeze Delta, Cabassa, Crusader, Coenraad Vermaak, few other well known and longtime donors. It’s not the typical flood of RSA Outfitters with packages. I’d have gone if I wasn’t in Africa

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
