I want to mount a scope on my Zoli O/U double rifle. It has 12mm top rib with no recoil lug. The caliber is 9.3x74R and I'll use it as an all around/plains game type rifle. The scope will probable be a 1" tube 2-7X32 or something similar and based on that it seems the BH needs to be in the 15/16mm range. I'm undecided as to whether or not I want a QR/QD mount. This is not a DG rifle so the only advantage I see for a QR/QD type is when I'm transporting the rifle. I prefer one piece ring/base combos but I'm open minded. I'm completely unfamiliar with the brands listed in the thread title but they seem to be the ones that keep popping up in my search. Anybody have experience withe these brands and/or other recommendations?

Thanks.

I have 3 Contessa QR mounts for my Blaser R8 that I love.
I know they make ones to fit a 12mm dovetail, but you will need to verify proper fit.
Maybe the SB02 will be the proper one for you.

As an engineer I rather like the contessa ones but saying that the recknagel products are very well made too. Out of the two I have considered the Contessa mounts myself but thought im still young enough to use open sights and elected to do so

Thanks guys. The Contessa is the one I was leaning towards.

Have a Contessa on a 470 DR. Came with it when purchased, and can say it works very well in returning to zero after the dismount and remount.

Not sure a Contessa will work on a simple rib without machined dovetails. Some ribs on doubles will not handle a scope mount At all and require something like a claw mount. I have a VC OU 9.3x74R with factory installed Recknagel mounts. They are superb. Let a gunsmith experienced with double rifles advise you.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks

hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
