Do exhibitors make money at the big shows?

I don't get this thing that people assume spouses hide purchases from each other. I don't really see that happening in lasting marriages.
Sounds like the intro to a very interesting thread.

The fur coats definitely get purchased at the show. My wife got this one in Nashville a couple of years ago.

Exhibitors don’t travel across the country or from the other side of the world unless they can generate enough profit to justify the expense. So yeah, the fur coat and jewelry dealers are doing a brisk business. I once sarcastically asked the Bell Helicopter rep how many they sold. He looked me in the eye and said “two for sure.” I’m always amazed at the purchasing power walking around the hall!

Doug3006: Morning. I'm here to rent the Huey.
Bell Rep: Sorry, we don't rent it any more. But it is for sale.
Doug3006: How much is it?
Bell Rep: Two million dollars.
Doug3006: My pilot and I would have to do a test flight.
Bell Rep: Of course. You just have to leave a deposit.
Doug3006:v How much is that?
Bell Rep: Two million dollars.
Doug3006: Would you take a company check?
Bell Rep: Yes.

Are prices at shows better than retail? Planning on DSC this year, which until now was to just to walk around with a friend, and see a few outfitters. I do need a new mountain scope, and am interested in a high-grade Blaser stock.

Have bought several custom or semi-custom rifles, optics, suppressors and fur coats at SCI over several years in addition to booking hunts. Most have offered a show “discount”. Have even purchased Swift bullets because they were there and available.

Sometimes, but I wouldn’t count on it. One of items I bought with discount code post show was Maven binoculars, but it’s not necessarily more of a discount than sales they would offer at different times of the year. I know of one vendor that refuses to give a discount even last hour of last day on any item.

IThey were strippers working a side gig, I had a blast talking to them. Needless to say, traffic stops were way better and I gave away a lot of brochures.

There is a Canadian group of outfitters here at Jagd and Hund from Alberta. Everyone of them has a stripper with fake knockers in their booth.

The Belarus hunting outfitter Krazny Bror has a couple of Belarus supermodels, but if you watch their videos they work there.

More than one. :sneaky: That being said, never hid purchases and vice versa.
I always thought it was more about their expiry dates!

Ah, this is the story of my life.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
