I'm looking for a Display Cabinet. DutchCrafters no longer makes this, wouldn't be hard to have built.

I'm just curious how many people Display & if you care to share? .. I understand if it's personal, looking for ideas.
Thank you.

There are some wonderful antiques pieces to find if you search diligently. I just looked and there are several on 1stDibs https://www.1stdibs.com/search/furniture/?oq=gun cabinets&q=gun cabinets&st=classified. When buying from the various retailers who advertise there, remember never ever to pay list price.

This is a mid-nineteenth century piece we found years ago in Northern Virginia. Not sure what the kudu thinks of it.

Just saw one at an estate sale auction this weekend… I probably would have gone for it… but they wanted a sorta ridiculous price for it… I wouldn’t mind one just for a handful of rifles and shotguns that I’m constantly getting in and out of the safe (skeet/trap guns, etc)…

Thank you, all. Display's, links, opinions.
Some of these Cabinets are costly, really. Just the consensus or majority being concerned about theft/fire above & beyond display has changed perspective. (common sense, but worth the ask..

Thank you.

Got lucky this time! Caught one last night at an online estate auction.. it’s a little beat up.. but will be a fun restoration project.. I’d estimate it to be at least 50 years old (not really antique, but old) and still has the original lock and key… $25 was all that was paid:)

Here is my old gun cabinet that my father built me back in 1980 or so. As I’ve said before with grandkids running around I’ve turned it int a book cabinet.

We were told it was locally made by Austin Amish.

Mine had some paperwork in it .. looks like it was made by the Morton Booth Company.. From the tiny bit of research I did, they mass produced cabinets from the late 50's until the late 70's.. all solid wood (no veneers) and seem to have had a decent reputation.. but Im sure the cabinet isnt anything special or worth much..

At $25 from an estate sale I was happy to have snagged it though.. I needed some more storage space (safe completely full.. guns in sleeves under beds and in closets now, etc..) and this will give me a place to put some of the firearms that Im constantly dragging in and out of the safe that will make them easier to access (trap/skeet shotguns, primary deer rifle, etc).. and once I clean it up a bit and do a little refinishing work on it I think it will display nicely in my office..

Really nice ideas here ..

It's a bit on the plain side - I have plans to gussy it up a bit. But I had a friend who has a wood shop build me one, and I think he did a right fine job - I am very happy with it. The problem is this was three years ago, and I keep acquiring more guns. (sorry for the crappy photo; I do not have a better one)

If you need an extra hand moving it into the house or anything like that, feel free to holler. :)

I made one when I was in high school out of walnut.
Now days I only keep a couple of pellet rifles and one 410 Springfield single shot shotgun in it

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
