I bought a pair of Swarovski 15 X 56 SLC binos and the Swaro tripod mount. The tripod mount does not work for me - it doesn't hold the binos firmly, they pivot on the pin attachment and allow the glasses to rotate - they are impossible to use for any serious glassing.

I'd like to locate a device that will hold the binos firmly and allow them to be attached to a standard thread, 1/4" tripod base. I'd also welcome recommendations for a good lightweight tripod that costs less than $300.

Do any of you have a solution for this bino/tripod adaptor that works well?

Thanks.

I’m out of country right now but will check when I get home. It is an excellent QD system. I bought it at bull basin outfitters in Tucson if you get over that way.

I have only used the Outdoorsmans system and feel it is by far the best out there.

Not cheap, but if you can find a Slik tripod used and buy the outdoorsmans pan head system (you rarely find them used), you will have a system for life.

Here’s my setup, swaro slc 10x42 with an outdoorsman stud. Outdoorsman Tall bino adapter, sirui VA-5 head and a slik 634 pro carbon fiber tripod.

Leupold and Bushnell make several cheaper versions, and the higher end bino companies sell their versions of this,

the best ones i ever used were on loan from a guide (very sturdy, not simple to affix or remove because the frame is more beefy.) Looked like the Celestron or Leofoto, but even higher quality beginning with an M or an H I think. I was using on 15x56 binos. IF you do a search on google.com a whole bunch of options (and tripods) will pop up. IF you do a search for high quality....a number of others will pop up for your perusal.

Guide just texted me back. Manfrotto was the ultimate quality. They make a 2-piece with a plate/shoe for the tripod and then the connector piece for the binos. It was SOLID for long range glassing of muleys (or sheep!)

Thanks for the leads. I am investigating.

At Kalahari Safari, the Small Things Are the Big Things
The thrill of the stalk. The stillness of the wait. The age-old rhythm of the hunt.
It’s not just about the size of the trophy. It’s about the stories that will be told for years.
We believe the memories are the true prize. The small things are the big things.
And we’re proud to offer a hunting experience that honours exactly that.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
