CZ Feed Issues

Can't you let us know what Formality did to rectify this feed issue?

Not sure, Bruce. Their gunsmith worked on the action. I assume he polished the ramp and feed rails but whatever he did solved the problem completely.
I own 3 CZ rifles and one hand gun, the P07, and what I can attest to is that they all get better and smoother the more you shoot them.

Thanks..I have 4x CZ/BRNO rifles and all are smooth feeding, especially the 2x375's which are older and more used.
The newest, 458 WM is not as smooth, since far less usage. I work the action at home when possible to get it smoother.
So far, no jams with the 458 even during a hairy 3x elephant charge last year in Zimbabwe!!

I use JB Bore cleaning paste to smooth the bolt throw. Mine are glass-like, now.

Try a Sako with its controlled feed, lovely timber and great accuracy. I get the gunsmith to get the trigger pull lightened.
I've tried lots of brands but truly love my Sakos.

Funny. I'm glad you like it. I had a Kodiak in .375 H&H that I bought new. Cost almost 80% more than a CZ. Had feeding issues (which I ended up fixing myself by grinding and polishing the feed ramp and tweaking the magazines), was not nearly as CF as they claim and could not be used with a scope due to ejection issue. Ended up trading it for a used CZ550 .458 Lott and a VZ24 in .375 H&H. The VZ turned out to be a bit of a butch job but the CZ550 alone was worth the trade.

Yes I am biased towards CZs in general but I actually like Sakos a lot but even good companies can turn out lemons or IMO of the Sako 85, not so stellar design (ejector in particular).

What did it take to make a new CZ 550 ready to hunt DG:

Replace trigger with Timney
Redrill stock for pillars, factory had drilled holes at a angle which meant the action screws would not line up so they discarded the pillars.
Glass new pillars in enlarged holes.
Emery cloth a bulge in the side of the bolt.
5 hrs. Smoothing rails with Brownell rail tool.
Radius rear bridge bolt hanging up at extractor ring.
Final lapping of bolt to action with valve lapping paste followed by JB bore cleaner.
Take gloss off of stock with 0000 steel wool.
Shorten stock screed (bottoming out without contacting stock).
I have no idea if this is common or not. My wife rifle not mine, now it is safe to use
