Cute Little Boomer — 577 Rimless Bolt

Yes, they added/edited the listing after correspondence. I did end up calling them. It was an assumption that Frank Wells made the action since it was unmarked but for the serial number.

Per our conversation, the round is in fact a 577NE with the rim turned off. He said once they get caught up he’d email me a couple photos of the cartridge.

No dies for the gun, only the listed loaded rounds/brass.

Once you have the photos, it would be interesting to see if the seller is calling it a rimless 577NE based on the head stamp or if it was used as a parent case.

If it is just a rimless 577NE, dies would be simple
Gumpy

Indeed. Plain old 577 NE dies.

Fastidious trimming and squaring of case mouth and no roll crimp to headspace on the case mouth ?
Or would it actually be headspacing on the claw extractor holding onto that rimless rim ?

If it is a BBK-02 action then the bolt face would have emaciated lips to hold onto a .505 Gibbs rim,
like this .505 Gibbs CZ 550 Magnum, both having a 0.700" bolt diameter:

Ugly, eh ?

Much better is the MRC M1999 PH action with a bolt diameter of 0.804" just measured on this one for .505 Gibbs rim:

Bauska bolt face is .73, CZ is .70.
Right you are.
Sorry to have implied that the BBK-02 bolt diameter is as skinny as a CZ 550 Magnum.
I just measured my 470 Mbogo BBK-02 and got exactly 0.730".

GMA Magnum Mausers are 0.750", I have read, and they might offer smaller and larger Mauser actions ?
