Customized Whitworth .300 Win Mag on Interarms Mark X action. Upgraded fancy walnut, Pachmeyer Decelerator recoil pad, inletted sling studs, fancy 3 panel fine checkering on pistol grip (2 on forend,) ebony forend tip, fancy pistol grip gap, matching blued bolt, caliber inscribed in cursive on bbl highlighted silver, and Win Model 70-style 3 position safety. Gun essentially duplicates a custom pre-64 M70. Matching polish blued Burris 3-12x 44mm scope w/ obj lens adj for daylight/twilight brightness on Leupold 1-piece base and rings w/ Butler Creek see-thru optical glass weatherproof caps. Shoots 1/2" or less groups using both 165 and 200 gr ammo. I set the gun up, handloaded, dialed-in using <10 shots, and took a whitetail and waterbuck with it (1 shot ea, so ~10 shots through the bbl.) Rifling is like new. Nearly flawless. Metal perfect, walnut perfect, 1 nearly unnoticeable compression ding on the bottom of ebony tip (can easily be fixed if desired.) Gun is like new! Purchased this and another 300 for my Son, took to TX and Africa 1x. I love it, but don't need 2 300s! Will provide handloading data if desired, as I've been shooting and reloading 300 WMs for 40 yrs. Pics were taken in direct sunlight out on the deck, so what you may see is smudged Rem oil protectant on the perfectly blued metal!

who did the upscale work on it? BUMP for beautiful rifle!

Someone out west (for the elderly fellow that had it made.) 'Happened upon another from same woodworker (757AI) but I'm keeping that! Something like Wyatt (but I think that's the 'smith that makes larger mag boxes for handloaders, custom cartridges, etc.) known for fine woodwork.

Doing some spring cleaning of the reloading room today and found these test targets in a big portfolio I have which serves as a great log book!

As stated prior, 'have my rules: If a gun is gotten, another has to be lost! lol And 'already bought a 2nd safe to pad that rule a bit, but time is running short on the "rule." LOL

Sold PRF to another Texan heading to Africa...
