I’m signed up for the SAAM safari prep course in October and sounds like we will be shooting close to 250-300 rounds. Plan on using my Blaser R8 300win mag and 375 H/H. I’m having problems finding enough ammo. Any recommendations for custom ammo? Thanks!

I’ve personally had very good luck with HenderShots . There’s also Superior Ammo . But I’ve read about some complaints regarding them not loading their ammunition to their advertised velocities .

Might not be custom, but Optics Planet has several kinds of 375H&H in stock. Free shipping too.
I checked on 3 or 4 calibers that I shoot and each one required you place it on extended back order. Oh well.

You may have to load your own is worst comes to worst.

Go to Federal ammunitions site, click on rifle at the top, on the left side when you scroll down you can refine by "caliber," do this, select 375 H&H, they have several loads available, even some of the less expensive powershok though nothing is inexpensive these days.

I think they only had the federal fusion available in the 300 win mag.

Must say, 458 lott ammo is certainly still available all over, though at times over 2 times what it was selling for before this mess, $12 or so a trigger pull for a lot of the stuff. Some deals still to be had out there.

I don't envy you 375 guys, they really seem to be out of stock a lot of places, not even price gouging seems to be stopping you guys.

Anyways, go to Federal's site and get your 375 H&H ammo, and jesus, hurry, doesn't seem like time is on your side.

Like many others, I've been buying factory ammo for my couple of larger bores over the last couple of years. Just as I refuse to pay $40-50/box for .270s, .308s and/or $118/box for .338s, I'm not paying what the larger bore factory ammo prices are going for now. I'll peruse sites for fair prices and supplement my reloads with those. When we keep buying and hoarding ammo at the inflated prices, the prices will stay high. But, if one can afford to buy a $2-5K rifle every month or less, I guess $150/box of .375s is not a big deal. I personally don't have that kind of firearm/ammo budget. Good luck to all in your ammo quest!

Yes indeed. Did just that because some interesting looking 400 grain .45-70 ammo I ordered months ago has been back ordered. So I loaded my own for testing in my Beretta double rifle and am very pleased that it regulates very well at 50 yards. The August heat is less that 100 degrees, but I am still waiting for a cool down before going to the rifle range again for 100 yard testing..

I agree. I have gotten ammo from them in the past.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
