@turbogrouse : What was the intent of this build? A big bore sniper rifle of sorts? For what application?
A hunting/stopping rifle in one of the largest calibers legal in Canada. Will be used on everything from gophers to buffalo.@turbogrouse : What was the intent of this build? A big bore sniper rifle of sorts? For what application?
Yeah it would definitely be to my taste lol.One of a kind for sure, you build it to your taste, so what's not to like about it.
I would like a CDX30 as well, 378 or 416 Weatherby for me. 20moa might not be bad. I've got a 20moa on my 700 with an Nx8 and the 100yrd zero still gives me quite a bit of down elevation. Still trying to find the right walnut blank for it.I have been toying with the idea of using a Cadex CDX40 action for a 505. Im so happy to see someone has actually done it!! Awesome set up! I can’t wait to see it in a walnut stock!
I was also thinking about just getting a CDx 30 in 338 Lapua Mag and putting a 22-24” 416 Rigby or a 375-338 Lapua barrel on it. My concern is the 20 moa rail for a 100 yard zero with an LPVO like your Nightforce. I know the Cadex isn’t a classic African Hunting rifle, but I miss my old Cadex.
Now You really have me thinking!
Thanks!! She is a tad heavy but really only a few pounds more than my others, carried it all last season looking for a moose like that nice bull you got, no luck though.I think your rifle looks incredibly cool. I love the green stock, and both the barrel and Bolt fluting. Your choice of scope is outstanding also. That's a heavy Rascal but what is not to love.
I love my 505 and have shot a fair bit of game with it.

But I just can't quite get up the courage to have it finished like my Remington VersaMax coyote shotgun......
