Crushed Crate

Yikes! I hope you can get them repaired. It looks like there was an attempt to stack another box on top and then let the forks drop on your crate. Let us know how your dealings with the insurance company transpire.

Those pictures make you want to cry.

I sincerely hope you can get the repair done.

I hate to say it but another reason to have the mounts done back here in the US.

Gizmo or Dennis will fix you up...

Ya man that sucks big time. Gizmo did my last Safari, definitely get in touch with him.

I can understand what you are going through.

I picked up my 2017 trophies last year after I arrived home from my second South African safari. I had 7 shoulder mounted trophies in my crate. None were spared by a forklift.

My large kudu received the worst of forklift damages.

It's been nearly 7 months: 6 sets of photos of damages; 9 indepth letters/emails describing the damages to my crate and trophies; over a 2 dozen phone calls and emails to 4 different insurance agents/reps; 3 trips to a "local" taxidermist (50 miles away) for 3 appraisal invoice (all the same) with original signature and I am still waiting for Webster (WKW Cargo insurance) to settle my claim.

It’s a crying shame! Oh the heartbreak! I feel for you loss!

Your right, there was other trophy damage as well. Some busted Impala horns, perhaps some broken Blesbock horn as well and that's just what we could see from the pictures. With luck they will be sending the crate out to us this week then I'll be sending additional pics to @gizmo and @The Artistry of Wildlife to see what, if anything, can be done about salvaging it. I'm really hoping it's something that can be stitched or glued or repaired in some other way as this animal would never look right to me without the original features if that makes sense. It would always look like someone else's trophy, not mine. Also your right on what happened to the crate as well, DELTA must have tried stacking something heavy on top of it.

i think delta has sided with the antis.

Well, that's the first time I've felt sad for "liking" something on this forum, but seriously that's horrible. I hope mine does not devolve into that much larger nightmare.

And while we did file a claim against them, since they broke it, they are only willing to pay pennies on the dollar to make it "right".

That is exactly what Estes did to us as well. Worthless companies, and can't believe the law protects them and there is nothing as a customer you can do to them to pay up. Frustrating!

Every crate I ship carries min 10,000 ins to cover any repairs or redo's I have yet to ever had to use it but it's put on all my outgoing crates.

That is the difference between an honest taxidermist, and the crooks I dealt with at Highveld Taxidermy.

Hi PaulB. Would you be interested in another WJ Jeffery .450/.400 NE 3". It's an extractor model and in superb condition, cased as well. Made in 1908. The rifle is here in Texas.
