I'm just looking to collect some information from some of the more experienced hunters/ outfitters on here.

I have been thinking about doing a cull buffalo hunt, I do not mind if it is a cow or bull I would just like the experience to as thrilling as possible and for the animal to have that beat up trophy look of an old warrior.

What sort of price range should I be expecting to pay to do this? i would like to combine the hunt with some plane games species as well. Would a 7 day safari be enough to get my buffalo then go after other animals?

Cheers

I would also like to hunt a non-trophy cape buffalo. Pieter from Paw Print Safaris has a buffalo cow offer in the Deals section, so take a look at that.

While I was in the planning stages of my South Africa safari, I had the option to add a buffalo cow to my plains game package for an additional trophy fee. I forget the exact amount but it was around $3,000 to $4,000.

UKHunter I suggest that you contact Andrew Harvey at African Sky Safaris and tell him what you would like to do and for how many days. He will correspond with you via email and come up with a price you can expect to be reasonable. Just came back from a Cape buffalo hunt with those guys and had a great time. Buffs are massive animals, bull or cow any way you look at them, expect a BIG RUSH standing in front of one about to shoot. Good luck and ask questions on this site. Lots of good people here willing to help and share experiences.

If you're a fellow brit I'd suggest contacting Adrian Sailor at www.safarihunter.co.uk. He offers some fantastic priced hunts in RSA, far more than the packages on his website suggest. Service is excellent and I know they do offer buffalo cull hunting. PM me if you require references.

Hello UKHunter,

I will guess that all of the Safari Companies and PHs advertising here will offer very affordable cow hunts from time to time, at least.
Your desire to hunt for the adventure of it all, instead of worrying about tape measures and record books, etc., is refreshing.
As fellow hunter with similar ideas, I salute you for it sir.
If you cannot find what you are looking for among the generally excellent Companies and excellent PHs in this forum, let me know and I can send you a PH contact that might be able to help you out in South Africa, bordering The Kruger Park.

Regards,
Velo Dog.

UKHunter, I actually just posted a question in hunting reports if anybody would be interested in hunting 3 truly wild buffalo cows in a 10 package 8 full days hunting and adding some plainsgame on top of it. Also have a look at the report I posted on the hunt I organized for some of my local friends.

That interests me, I will check it out.
