Anyone use 4 Stable Sticks

Anyone using 4 Stable Stick for calibers 375 caliber and up? I like and have used the Viperflex quad sticks but I’m wanting to find something a little lighter but still be stable enough with the heavier recoiling rifles.

I love 4 stable sticks but I think they are best suited for 375 and under. I shoot better the less weight I bear into the rifle/sticks and that shooting style isn’t good for heavy recoiling rifles. For the distances you’d shoot a tripod is better choice to me above 375.
I shot my 450 Rigby at 100 yards off my GunStix (different style quad bit heavier) to confirm zero. It has been the only time I’ve had the gun slip and really bruise my wrist with the bolt. Thankfully trigger guard didn’t catch my finger. Tripod only after that for me.

I have had a very similar experience and now just use normal tripod

I shoot my Blaser R8 in anything from .22 LR to .458 Lott from the carbon 4 Stable Sticks. No issue whatsoever, and they have helped me shrink my groups standing off the sticks from 3 MOA down to 2 MOA and even 1 MOA on good days.

To the point that I had to retool my target stand to smaller plates, and even home-make a 2" 'plate' for training at 100 yards, because the 6", 5" and 4" plates were just too easy...

4'', 3" and 2" training 'plates' at 100 yards. Quad Sticks shrink groups! That is a 1" MOA group in that 2" 'plate'. Not bad for shooting standing; I could never do this with a tripod...

Sure, you still need to grasp firmly the .458 Lott and not forget that just because the quad sticks hold the rifle, they do not alleviate its recoil, but they have not interfered with my recoil control.

Blaser R8 -- that day with its .22 LR barrel -- on carbon 4 Stable Sticks. It shoots as well standing from the sticks, as custom rifles did from the bench not so long ago (remember when 1 MOA rifles from the bench were the Holy Grail of magazines gun writers?)...

I am sure that the results would be the same with other quad sticks, but I like the carbon 4 Stable Sticks for being so light to carry around, and so easy to travel with.

I just returned from Zimbabwe and I used my Stable sticks with my 458 Lott. I shot a nice Kudu at 150 yards off these sticks. I am a fan for life!

I’ve took a set to Tanzania and used my 375. Worked great, better than my tripod set up. However, the tripod was better in heavy brush.

I have the mountain version, which allows for use sitting and standing shooting.

I have the Viper-Flex Pro To Go (3-section, all carbon fiber) and love them for my 375H&H. Extremely light (less than 2 lbs) and very well made. Collapsable to 36" for easy travel. Not inexpensive, but most things worth having aren't.

Not sure about using them above that, but I'd at least give it a go.

I used them in Africa with great success and bought 2 different styles for home when I got back. I just took the most compact carbon ones to Hawaii and used them there.

I called to make sure they had what I wanted in stock, paid with credit card and had them in a few days. Nice people but the woman who answered the phone was difficult to understand. I think they are using a cordless phone from the 1990’s.

4stable sticks are not as robust as Viper Flex Journeys. I have seen them fail in the field. I have abused my Viper flex mercilessly but they keep coming back for more after 5 plus years of hard use.

I broke two pairs of 4stable sticks (including one pair @SRvet witnessed as above) before I bought Viperflex and these have lasted well with heavy use (including .375 H&H.) In fact, with the 5th leg we zero the DG rifles off them to save building/carrying/storing a bench.

As well as for travel (as mentioned earlier) obviously a big advantage of ViperFlex's ability to fold down is to go down to shoot from sitting, useful for shooting under cover (buff in mopane/jess or longer shots.)

Again, as mentioned the newish carbon Viperflex Pro are slimmer tubes and obviously made from a lighter material

If you mean for Africa then the tracker or PH will carry your sticks anyway of course

I used 4stable sticks with a 308 and a 416 in Africa with total satisfaction.

I did the same as my PH was so impressed with them but to import from Denmark to Zim was going to be about $500. He has said since they have seen a lot of use out there
