I just acquired a 1907, manufactured in 1908 & I'm trying to find out if Winchester offered them in different grades.
This particular gun has exceptionally well figured wood on the forearm, checkering on the grip & forearm & a cheek piece. The pistol grip flares towards the butt & it has a pressed steel, rather than bakelite(?) grip cap.
I've seen a couple of online photos of checkered guns, but none with a cheek piece.

Do i have something special, something very well home/custom made, or does my internet researching just suck?

What a beauty! I'm no expert, but the Cody Firearms Museum has an extensive collection of Winchester company records. If it was custom ordered from the factory, they may be able to provide you with some documentation of it. Either way, the craftsmanship is evident.

I read an older thread that mentioned you having some 9.3x64 brass. Do you still have some? I am looking for 100 pcs, maybe 200.
A wonderful trip to Hungary with a very special friend !
