I wasn't allowed to go to Africa this year as planned unfortunately, but I managed a great hunt on our Aussie buffalo instead. We hunted in very remote central Arnhemland with Big Country Safaris and had a fantastic time. Highly recommended for a true stalking experience on foot, from a tented camp in true wilderness.

I used my Mk. X 458WM and 480gn Woodleigh RN. First shot on this old sweeper bull was right on dark, then we had an exciting pursuit down to the creek where he died right in the water after absorbing a further two shots. Luckily there were only freshwater crocodiles present, made for an interesting caping job under headtorch!

cheers
Tim

Great looking animal

Folks I really appreciate all of the postings being made here. I think it’s cool to scroll through this thread and see so many fine DG animals taken by our members….after all this was for animals taken by you the AH MEMBER.
Congrats to everyone!
I hope someone will start a similar thread next year!

I agree Charlie and maybe a first-timers thread too!

My son and I both were able to take Cape buffalo in the Limpopo with Warthog Safaris (report is on AH). With a 416 rem mag my son took the unique swept back bull with a frontal shot and two follow up shots. I took my with a 375 h and h with 300 grain swift a frame to the heart. Fantastic hunts were had by the two of us! We also had three first time safari hunters with us and that was almost as exciting as our buff hunts!!

Congratulations to both of you

@CAustin I'll take the task for starting a thread for 2022. My wife has buffalo on her list for next year.
I will leave it as a surprise on what I am hunting:)

Have a look af our latest post on the biggest roan i ever guided on!

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?
