Unfortunately you also found out something that I learnt the hard way; that the African taxidermy industry needs to get its collective shit together. I think the common stuff ups and horror stories detract as many would-be African hunters as any other factor...

There are good taxidermists in RSA that charge reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the area you hunt may not have one. I'm waiting on a shipment from a hunt in October '17 and have been emailed a few times on the status. Last email was another update and invoice but no request for money until all done and crated. I use Marakalalo in Blomfontein.
