I´m going to Zimbabwe for Cape Buffalo next year. Would it be totaly wrong to use North Fork 450 gr SP and Solids on Buffalo in my 458WM or should i stick to the 500gr bullets. I can see North Fork sugest the 450 gr in 458WM. I have also looked at Woodleigh 480gr but i prefer the North Fork bullet.

The 450gr will give you excellent results.

I have no experience hunting buffalo, but I have used NF bullets in 3 different calibers for PG. I wouldn't hesitate in the least to use the 450gr versions for buff. Remember the 500gr standard came from a time that bullets were nowhere near as well made as those we have today. Those 500gr bullets from yesteryear would shed significan weight upon impact, so the bigger size was an attempt to overcome this problem. You won't have that problem as you know with the NF's.

The 450gr NF will get the job done beautifully.

I am using 450gr (±2150ft/s) GS Customs with great success on Buff with my .458WM.

North Fork .458 450 grain FPS at 2150 fps MV shoots through ele head and into body; DRT.
They also shot through half dozen Cape Buffalo at same MV.

The 450Gr Northfork Cup Point Solid will do beautifully in a .458 Winchester Magnum for Cape buffalo.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
