I worked a large estate of some very fine guns recently. I've decided to take home a custom Mark X 416 Taylor! I was told by a very well known gunsmith, who was s friend of the departed, that he seems to remember Frank Wells building the gun. The quality seems to be up to snuff, but even if it wasn't Wells, it'll be my finest rifle yet. I'll Get some pics up once I get it home, but I'm very excited. The 416T has fascinated me for many years. Comes with a Leupold vari-x iii 1.5-5, QD's, good opens, dies, bullets, formed brass and load data.

More than likely buying the Parker Hale 1400M 404 as well. Still undecided on that one but I think I'll buy it to try it and go from there

416 Taylor is a great cartridge! Congratulations!

Old shooting partner had one in a Ruger 77 tang safety. Sweet shooter. You’ll love the cartridge.

Congratulations on a fine caliber choice! Love my 416 Taylor. Mine is a build on a Parker Hale Mauser action. It really likes 400gr projectiles launched with 70gr of Reloader 15. The Woodliegh reloading manual has a large section on the 416 Taylor.

...Been shooting a .416 Taylor since 1988. Rifle was assembled by Frank Wells in 1987. Got lots of load data if you're interested.

Nice looking rifle sir!

Very nice rifle! I love my custom Whitworth in .416 Taylor. You'll really enjoy shooting it. Just curious, what does the writing engraved on the right side of the barrel say? I can read "Frank", but then it's blurry.

Nice rifle, you will enjoy many days afield with your new addition to the gunsafe.

Milehighshooter, I think you've found yourself a keeper. The Parker Hale in 404 Jeffery will make a great working rifle as well.

I sold my one and only PH in 30-06 back in 1978, been regretting it ever since. Currently two 404 Jeffery(s) reside in my safe. You will come to "love" that caliber.

Congrats on the 416 Taylor. I picked one up a few years ago built on a M70 Pre-war.

I believe his company made both a 300 WM and 757 AI obtained through others. Both are shooters! So is the M70 Shaw Chatfield-Taylor.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.
