375h&h barrel length

I would try hunting with the factory barrel length first.
If I see that the length bothers me, then I would decide to shorten it.
However, you should try all variants.
One thing is certain.
You can shorten it only once, and you can never extend it again

I'd do what Miletic suggested.
Your Alaska hunt is next year. Hunt with it this year as is where you are & see if you like it, or if you really need it shorter.

I had a huge debate with myself regarding this. I ended up trimming my Mod70's barrel to 20", and had it threaded for a silencer.
Tally QD basis and rings now allow me to interchange and shoot a 1-4×20 scope zeroed at 50m without the silencer. And a 4-12×44 scope zeroed at 100m with the silencer fitted.
The weight of the 4" piece of barrel that was cut off, is now displaced by the weight of the silencer - which improves the overall balance again.
Velocity loss was minimal enough to allow me to shoot as per usual.

Since then, the rifle has taken all the dangerous game species available, a bunch of the Tiny-10 and ton of PG.

IMHO: Cut the barrel down to 20" and enjoy your rifle.
If you cut the barrel and then added a can, what did you gain except a can?

Better accuracy and less recoil. I have kids and ladies now being able to use the rifle without being recoil shy.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
