.375 should be banned from buffalo hunts!

@Flbt - thanks but the 760 .30-06 was a the first deer rifle I ever bought so it’s staying “as is” - still like that gun very much fo any deer hunting. Also, I spent years looking for a “mint condition” 760 in .308 and not about to a castrate that rifle either.
Gonna have to go the “expensive route” and search for an existing 760/.35 Whelen that would break my bank account (or result in Divorce!)
@HankBuck
Or just get a relatively cheap left hand bolt gun in 06 and get it rebored.
Bob

I have a couple 7600s, one of which is a factory .35 Whelen carbine, and an older 760 that I had rebored by JES to a .35 Whelen. Both handle 250 grains at 2500 fps+ no problem. I believe the 760s are every bit as strong as the 7600s, whether either or both would handle Bob's atomic loads is a question I don't have the answer to, but they both handle some fairly serious loads no problem. If problems did arise with hot loads, I believe it would manifest itself as sticky cases and problematic extraction, not damaged rifles. The lockup is very strong, but the camming power for extraction is less than a bolt action. I picked up the 760 for $600.00 on Gunbroker, had JES rebore it for $300. So less than a grand for a .35 Whelen pump. It is an older 760 with the full length action tube which I prefer.
@roklok
My loads aren't atomic, they are published loads by reputable companies. I just bought them out in the open.
My load for the 310s isn't published but worked up carefully and still appears to have minimal case head expansion and easy bolt lift.
Nought wrong with a 310gn Woodleigh rnsp at 2,400+ fps out of the Whelen. Just need something big enough to try it on.
Bob

@Bob Nelson 35Whelen - my interest is in getting (justifying) another 760 pump and since YOU have “soured” Me on considering a .243 (I might get one but YOU”LL Never know about it) - the .35 Whelen makes sense.
@HankBuck
If'n the 243 floats your boat fine
If'n it don't you can always get it redone to the baby Whelen, aka 358 win. That's another fine and dandy 35.
Bob

Yeah, but Ivan Carter is an actual PH licensed in Africa.

Is Chris PH a licensed African PH???

If you aren’t a licensed African PH calling yourself a PH is a bit disingenuous.
As I said, I have no clue whether he is or not. I merely noted that the accompanying PH model has become fairly common.

That was meant to be a bit of good natured ribbing, I don't doubt they are published and or safe loads. I have however tried CFE223 in the Whelen and am not getting close your velocities, however my longest Whelen barrels are 22 inch.

Something wrong somewhere, mines only a 25" barrel.
Then again rifles is like womenfolk, they can be fussy and temperamental.
Some women are just temperamental, full of temper and half mental tho

Maybe the Aussie CFE223 has more pep in its step than our CFE223. In all seriousness I have seen variance in different lot numbers of powder.

That's why when I got my supply of it, it all went into a big bucket and got blended then rebottled.
Ended up turning 20 bottle of different batches into 18 bottles of the same batch.
Saves the hassle of redoing load development for different batches.
Problem solved.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
